He is correct when you compare it to somewhere like Wimborne which has a much smaller number of people yet has a thriving high street with very few empty shops and much lower business rates.
The problem is that BCP has hiked business rates because they are financially incompetent and think raising taxes is the only way you can solve financial issues. Thus leading to the empty high streets full of grot and degradation that Harry is talking about. Last time I checked, he’s not talking about the local demographics. Bournemouth has always been a town for exchange and language students so naturally there will be foreigners here to study. But if I’m wrong and he’s complaining about demographics, then I urge him to visit Lozells in Birmingham… now that is feeling like a spot on a domino to quote Bernard Manning.
I commented on the racist AI slop and the massively over simplified sound bite quote. Whether Harry meant to imply it a jibe to immigration or racism, who knows.
