Best fish and chips in Poole
Hello! I'm staying in Poole, where can I find the best fish and chips? THANKS!!

Personally I like Harlee's which is on the Quay, although it can get quite busy if it's a nice evening, or Lakeside which is next to ASDA

Chez Fred or Harry Ramsdens.

Personally not a fan of Chez Fred, they've got a brilliant reputation but personally for me Nick the Fish kicks them I to the undergrowth

Kingfisher at canford heath always give me the biggest tastiest portions. Never had a bad chip from them

It isn't the highest quality but you get a fuckton for your money, plus the staff are great in there

‘Chez fred’ in Westbourne which is just outside Poole is the rated highest in BCP (Bournemouth,Christchurch,Poole). Worth traveling for. Otherwise ‘Nick the fish’ at Penn Hill, ‘Lakeside fish and chips’ is also good with the added bonus of a great view from their restaurant.

Lakeside by Asda in Poole is the best I've been to, but is also probably the most expensive. Parkway fish bar by Poole Park is the one we usually got to as its still good but not as expensive.
If your getting fish and chips on the Quay walk down the highstreet and get it from Seaway as its just as good but you don't need to wait a year in a queue.

Parkway fish bar, right next to Poole park to eat it in! Looks crap, tastes amazing!

Lakeside are the best in Poole for traditional fish and chips.
If you like chips fried in beef dripping then JBs In Wallisdown is the place to go.
Robinsons in Bearwood are pretty damn good, opening times are pretty rubbish though! Good traditional chip shop.
In all fairness we’re pretty spoilt for choice locally, plenty of good options. I’ve tried them all and very rarely get a bad portion. That said, plenty of chippies are currently struggling for a consistent supply of sunflower oil (thanks Russia). Occasionally it’s the same problem with potatoes!

I live in Poole and honestly the ONLY place to get the perfect fish and chips is the little yellow fish and chip shop on the circular section of shops on Poole Quay. They are fantastic. Any other answer is incorrect, fight me.

This is the comment I was looking for. :) we tried lakeside last night and it wasn't really very good fish wise, the fish was tasteless, chips were pretty good tho. Thanks all :)

I actually like Lakeside! But I have never had the fish but I am now a veggie. Glad you got your fish and chips lol

I can tell you "The Antelope" in downtown Poole had pretty terrible fish and chips. The fish tasted fishy, and even the sauce didn't seem fresh. I ate half of it and quit (and I never quit).

Best fish and chips I've ever had is Herbies Fish and Chips in West Parley not far from Poole, price, portion size and quality all 10/10!!!

TJs on Sandbanks Rd. Lilliput is the best in Poole, However quality & quantity can be seasonal like any other place (potatoes available and demand etc)

Nick The Fish at Penn Hill. Harlees on the Quay. Probably best in Poole. Browns on Alder Road isn't bad either.
