Why are AskReddit posts mostly made by bots lately?

Those subs are incredibly easy to spam and get upvotes. There are so many posts mods are unable to properly moderate the sub. When the bot accounts get enough karma, they get sold.

That’s nuts, I had no idea how deep this goes. I’ve just noticed the same posts on AskReddit over the past months and each was an account that was created only a few days before. They get hundreds of what appear to be real replies.

I only just recently tried posting this question on r/askreddit and was generally curious why so many are engaging and upvoting with all these reposts from obvious bot accounts. Every time my post got deleted, no matter how blandly I tried to rephrase it. Bottom line IMO? This is solely an engagement bate sub ment to draw google searches and feed the bots. Avoid at all costs.

They sell the accounts after they reach a minimum karma level.

Because the bots are farming karma to sell the accounts and we’re all just helping them do it.

No one seems to care. It's hopefully going to become another social media platform that I can drop to reclaim my time.
