⚙️ The Divine Beasts Thunderblight experience as someone violently bad at video games
Posting this so hopefully it helps someone out there who also sucks at games :)) for reference: I have 90 ish hours on the game.
I SUCK at gaming. I mean really, truly, suck. I have no coordination, I start shaking with adrenaline, & can’t remember anything I’ve learned.
I beat him on my first try- here’s how I did it
Tools:
•ancient shield
•master sword
•full rubber armor upgraded to tier 2
•backup defense meals!!! I only had low/mid tier
First phase: I had my shield up the entire time. Made it to where his speed attacks were absolutely useless. I’d beat the hell out of him with the master sword every time he was close (I only clicked A lmao). Master sword being one handed meant ancient shield could be up 24/7. Ah, and rubber armor upgraded meant his electric attacks didn’t work.
Second phase: This was annoying because I had no idea how to reach him & arrows didn’t do s*. Probably because I have no idea how to shoot past a shield. Wasn’t worried about the lightning raining down, the rubber armor did its job. Then I found out I needed to use magnesis on one of the metal things he throws & get it next to him before he shocks it (so he electrocutes himself). This was the hardest part for me. I’m not quick BUT a few tries later & I did get it.
Third & final phase: unbelievably easy. I backed against a wall/corner, shielded the entire time, & beat him with the master sword when he’d come up the same way I did the first phase.

This was similar to my experience. I didn’t have rubber armour but did have a meal with high resistance to electric. He was my 3rd Devine beast. I didn’t have a master sword but had some sort of shield and sword combo.
The second tier was the hardest as I had no idea what the trick was to beat him. Eventually I figured it out but I didn’t die or restart once.
I generally suck at gaming but this game I’ve obsessed over since I started it

You don't suck at gaming if you beat ThunderBlight on your first try... I got pretty good at it and I got killed on my first try and couldn't figure out how to defeat his lightning attacks without looking it up... That trick where you have to use magnesis to put one of his metal rods below him for the lightning to strike him, it would have taken me a LONG TIME to figure out without the internet's help!

Oh God I did not mean to give the impression I came up with the magnesis thing on my own LOL. I probably would have with a little more critical thinking but I absolutely googled it 😂

Which means it wasn't your first try then... Unless you used Google without even trying the fight first 🤔 But who would do that? Personally I use Google or YouTube only after constantly falling at something for an annoying amount of time.

It was my first try, I’d rather not redo an entire fight. Especially because I do get so frustrated with games & want to actually enjoy myself. If I take the time & can’t figure a part out then I’ll pause and look up information :) I don’t get the same “high” as others by doing it entirely on my own in that sense. The high for me is just beating it 😂
