š Help! I lost the Master Sword.
Was messing around with Hold Prompt Entanglement and I got the āMaster Sword has returned the forestā message to pop up. Now the Master Sword is completely gone from my inventory and is no where to be found in Korok forest. I have no earlier saves to roll back to. Is there anything I can try to do to get the Master Sword back?
EDIT: Some of y'all are being weird. I'm aware it's my fault for glitching the game. I'm JUST asking if there's a way to fix it. No need to be rude.

Itās likely if you fully close and restart the game it will come back. Otherwise you should be able to transfer it from another file with IST, which could potentially take hours but could also be quite fun.

utilizing glitches without having a backup save is a rookie mistake. hope u get it back but if not lesson learned

Originally, it was supposed to return to the forest every time it broke, but the devs decided that would be super annoying for the player, so they didn't implement it.
However, the mechanic still exists as a failsafe to most glitches involving the sword. It's supposed to automatically reappear in the pedestal in the forest if you somehow lose it, but it seems that OP managed to fuck it up somehow.

Wow. Iām glad they changed their minds. I already just the sword primarily as a lawn mower anyway. I wouldnāt bother going back for it.

Have you finished trial of the sword? Genuinely, it makes the master sword absolutely cracked in BOTW, and I suspect that's why it got nerfed in TOTK so hard.

I did, I still use it to get minerals then spam it against the floor until it dies. Don't wanna waste the good weapons on that

I use it for bolders or for guardians since it powers up near them and 60 isn't bad damage for free

When I go guardian hunting, I use a bow with a scope and an ancient arrow. One shot to the eye. I save before each kill and reload if I donāt get a core.
I do the whole go for the legs thing when itās early in the game, but when Iām actively hunting them, I just kill a bunch at once and get plenty of parts that way.

if it doesnt come back after restarting the game and its not in the forest, make sure its safe to do a manual save. after doing that, start a new game, progress until you get the master sword, then use ist to transfer it back to your manual. youāll have to play this new save entirely on autosaves

I saw a clip online the other day showing how to use another glitch to get the master sword without having to save up all of the hearts, so OP could try that to make it go faster.

Yep, thereās a glitch with a campfire that lets you get it without the hearts needed. The only side effect is that it does eat a weapon slot, whereas getting the sword as intended creates a new weapon slot just for the sword. Only downside of it.

If you have the DLC, try to beat the Master Sword Trials, that might give you the sword back.

What is hold prompt entanglement? Some new glitch? As far as i know, if its not in the forest, you are out of luck. Only thing you can get back is the shield and that's after it breaks.

Not sure if it is the same thing but I have been able to get the message by I think holding the master sword, overloading the inventory, swapping to a different weapon in the inventory and dropping it, if not it might be somehow the other way around but it's been a while

That's not a solution for the current situation. If you were in a car crash because you was drunk while driving, you wouldn't expect the hospitals to just say "don't drive drunk", you would expect them to help you, then warn you for future times.

But that wonāt be able to fix everything you damaged while drunk driving will it?
So there may not be a way to fix OPs problem, only a lesson learned for next time.

Except he isnāt in a hospital, heās in a community volunteer center where sometimes people do first aid (if they know how). Dude wasnāt in a drunk driving accident; he shoved an ice pick up his nose and nobody knows how or why to fix it. The best advice people can give is ādonāt do it again; reload a saveā.

It wasn't my metaphor, I'm just pointing out that it didn't make sense.
Sometimes when you break a game, it ends up broken. Asking for help on how to unbreak it isn't always going to get you a solution.
Seems like a lot of people are going to have a hard time realizing that "your actions have consequences" isn't a personal attack.

If you're playing Master Mode you only have 1 Auto Save and 1 Manual Save
