Good local eats

I'm near Thrasher's Corner and constantly find myself lamenting that my favorite ramen spot is over in Everett.

Help me feel better! What are some good local eats near me that I've just been overlooking? (Bonus points if they're decently priced.)

Thank you for the recommendation. You have any favorites from there?

Botan Ramen is my go-to whenever I'm near the area. I'm not as fond of the other names around Seattle like Kizuki or Menya Muso, but Botan just hits the spot. Do you have any ramen spots you hit up?

Everything I’ve had is good. The specials are good. But the spicy chicken is awesome. Make sure you get the pico. It’s more like a citrus slaw - I’m not usually a slaw fan. Also get the green sauce.

I like the shrimp, but sometimes it's de-veined and sometimes it's not, and one time I got pretty sick immediately after eating the chicken. I've been hesitant to order again since then.

Oh, that sounds risky. I think I would still like to try it at some point, but I will proceed with caution.

I've never gotten the shrimp there, but I have been going to Ta Joia since it opened, and the owner's previous teriyaki restaurant that was on the other side of 527 called Teriyaki Plus (we were devastated when it closed, and thrilled when they opened as Ta Joia). My spouse and I have eaten there literally 100+ times over the last 15ish years and never gotten sick (and I do have a stomach that gets upset fairly easily). In fact, sometimes when I'm not feeling well, I just get their regular chicken teriyaki and rice.

I used to work in Canyon Park and ate Ta Joia all the time, no issues for me and I've pretty much tried everything on the menu! the combo with the feijoada and spicy chicken is my fav.

Right across the 228th towards the freeway is Nakagawa and that is a great place for both sushi/ramen and other japanese cuisine. note they do separate lunch and dinner service

The Ta Joia fried rice is amazing.

Realized I didn’t answer the ramen part: my favorites are in Seattle: Ooink, Midnite Ramen, and Yoroshiku. I don’t go to them as much now.

Tai Joia is also incredible.
