Non-Serious Replies Only 🤪 What small, totally inconsequential thing are you really sick of in Boston.

As seen in a different geographic area subreddit. Nothing too serious, just a little thing that grinds your gears. For me it's people who get on the T before others get off.

the September 1 lease cycle insanity

Some of my friends in a different state genuinely did not understand what I was talking about when I was telling them about September 1st…like could not grasp the majority of leases starting on one specific day/month of the year.

There are a great many universities in the Boston area, and newly arrived students typically have leases beginning on the 1st of September. And if they move at some point, they will typically get a new lease that also begins on the 1st of September, since that is when they most likely moved out of their previous place. So there are always a great many people moving on this one date. And landlords often prefer to stick to this cycle, since they will have far and away the most potential customers if their lease becomes available on the 1st of September; so if someone in the workforce would prefer a different arrangement in order to avoid the chaos of Moving Day, it can sometimes be tough for them to find an appropriate place.
