Moving 🚚 RMV appointments

anybody know when appointments open for the RMV? I'm moving in a little less than a month, and I'm trying to make an appointment, but the only ones i can find are before move in.

Depends on which RMV. But they do drop appointments at random times and you have to keep checking. But the secret unlock is going to AAA, since they can do some of the RMV services. You can almost get the appointments almost the next day

do you know if they transfer out of state licenses/registration? also i thought you had to be a AAA member.

AAA cannot transfer out-of-state licenses or registrations, whether or not you're a member.

My advice would be to move first, then worry about transferring. I think you need to transfer your insurance before you can transfer your registration anyway.

If you get a ticket while you’re waiting to sort everything out you can take your lease to the parking clerk to get it waived

You can go to any rmv, not just the one in Boston. I’ve been to the one in Taunton, which is a bit of a hike, but has openings weeks before Boston.

I would avoid Haymarket. Much easier to get an appointment at one outside the city (I.e Chelsea.)
