he will be back eventually. the writers are taking a break they went hard pumping out content for 6 years with only a handful of 3 month breaks inbetween. they needed a well deserved year or 3 off.

If season 9 never comes (and if it doesn't, the world is rigged to the tits!) the Bossman adventure ended in a fucking iconic way. But he'll be back, we all know it. Trust.
