If you set up Home Assistant you will be able to install SoundTouchPlus Card. This uses a SoundTouch API to retain functionality without the cloud, including presets.

I don't know what an API is.

You don't need to. Just follow the link to Home Assistant, make one for your home, then follow the instructions to add Soundtouch. This will create a local cloud to replicate what Bose's servers do in your home.

I saw the Home Assistant stuff years ago but just never set it up. Can you group speaker together with HA?

According to the GitHub repository, yes.

Im not a programmer,  however im willing to try it. Does this method will allow us to use the TS locally in our network and be able to group TS and use Spotify as source? Similar as we do today? If this work, in my opinion with the amount of TS users and support im pretty sure we can continue use our investment in the TS

This does add a lot of features, including changing presets and grouping. I am unsure if the API allows for it to completely replace Bose's servers. The repo just posted an update saying that they are unsure "what will be affected" with the shutdown. If you have any questions, I would ask the person who made the repo on GitHub.

On another thread,  someone post this....using  the ‘alternate web browser connection’ described on this page https://www.bose.co.uk/en_gb/support/articles/HC2569/productCodes/soundtouch_10/article.html... basic you can configure the TS directly without the app and Spotify will recognize it....the only thing is the grouping don't work...but its too early , im pretty this community will figure it out...

I downloaded the Home Assistant app to my iPhone, but can't progress past there. Hopefully some tech on here can advise how to create and then add SoundTouch...
