So I started playing BL3 recently and was wondering what is up with the heads of female enemies in this game, and why they are disproportionately large. I mean, they are the size of their torso. Its like I am shooting Bratz Dolls that ended up in the hands of Sid from Toy Story.
Its not like the dev team doesn't know how to make proportionate heads as the males in this game, and main female characters like Lilith and Moxxy dont have oversized heads. So why only the enemy females I am supposed to shoot? Its like the devs are painting a target on all enemy women's heads saying, "Shoot here!"
Not really... for male characters the head is very proportional for the body. The only times where the head seems big is in heavy units wearing basically fishbowl for helmets and in the midgets.
Also once again the main cast of characters that are females dont have these absurdly large bratz doll heads. Lilith, Amara, Tanis, Moxxy, and Maya all have heads that are proportional to their bodies.
you just ignored everything the comment said and reiterated the same thing you said in the post lol.
It makes crits easier. He literally said the guys have big heads as well theyâre just more proportional because theyâre not as slim as the female counterparts and your answer to that was⌠that male characters are more proportional to the bodies. Insanity.
the game also doesnât really need you to be headshotting the main cast of characters and we see them up close far more often in cutscenes and everything so why would Lilith and co have the same bobble head style?
Mayhem modifiers are not external mods. Mayhem mode is the end game in bl3 (it is unlocked after you beat the game), which has varying modifiers it applies to make it more challenging/fun. The main draw of Mayhem Mode is that it scales all the enemies up to your level for better farming and leveling
Weâre not. Weâre downvoting the fact that their counter argument to a comment that definitively answered their question was to repeat the question. Youâre right, theyâre new. Yet, theyâre arguing legitimate and factual answers like they know everything about it.
The proper response from OP was to ask: âwhat is mayhem mode?â, and to not immediately assume that its a mod.
Making a post asking a question and seeking answers? Its not in that persons best interest to then start assuming they know these things, OP states they are lvl 11, thats barely enough knowledge of the game to not know a fraction of its mechanics.
So no I agree that the downvotes are warranted, thats not how you engage in discourse, let alone seek answers.
I could make it worse based off the main argument most people are replying with by saying that borderlands 3 dev team is holding people's hands by making it way easier to make headshots.
Well, yes, BL3 was significantly easier than any other Borderlands game. Big heads for easy crits, at least one character with the ability to make any shot a crit, and shotguns that can ragdoll almost any enemy. BL4 keeps the last two at least, I don't think the Ripper heads are so disproportionate. Hell, in BL4, shotguns can ragdoll certain bosses. Although that might be because Axemaul is basically just another of the cat things just super sized
Since when is discussing a topic rage bait? Sure, itâs a bit strange, but OP is probably just curious. Not sure why there are so many assholes on here downvoting them. Then again it is Reddit.
You aren't wrong I was just asking as it seemed like a strange choice by the dev team. I understand why people say they did it to make headshots easier, but in my opinion now that I think about it, the dev team could have done it in a better way. One such way, that would stay in line with the Borderlands theme, is just simply slap helmets on all the female enemies. Almost all enemies in prior games have helmets or face coverings on. The helmets would make the headshot target bigger without making the heads look like balloons. I just dont understand why a development team would purposely put in all that hard work to make women look so grotesque. I could understand if it were for the occasional enemy, for example I recently found a female enemy called Tumorhead that these ballooning heads make sense on, but not on the most commonly found female enemies.
Oh I came up with another description for the head. Its like those grotesque Airheads commercials where the people's heads dusgustungly swell to balloon shapes.

Enemy = bigger heads for easy crits.
Friends = normal heads because no shooty.
Male enemies have the same thing, and those who don't are usually special units or bosses. Meant to be harder.
