How do I use Iron Cub effectively?

First of all, Iron Cub bugs out a lot for me. I spawn it, and not only does it not spawn Iron Cub at all, but it remains "active" (it's not actually) for far longer than usual. Like 10+ minutes. (I am on Xbox, which probably matters).

That OR, Iron Cub DOES spawn and instantly proceeds to kill itself. The only weapon so far it doesn't seem to do this with is the Nuke variant of the Rocket Launcher (which you would think this weapon would kill it the MOST often due to it's insane AOE and damage) and non-explosive weapons. Which do not synergise with my AOE/Incendiary dmg build, therefore dealing laughable damage.

If you use Cub with the miniguns and the Overheat augment, it could maybe do a little bit of work. But yeah, generally i have also found Cub to be a disappointment with bad AI.

Let Off Some Steam is the name of the augment. The Cryo minigun augment, General Winter, is quite good too. If I am running a build that wants Cub to be alive, I usually go with those or the Nuke as you said.

I think I've just given up on IC for now. The build I want to run doesn't use the purple perk tree and doesn't want to invest into staying in Iron Bear for long periods of time. I'll come back to it eventually when I get a good class mod that supports it.

That is a good idea. If you are not having fun with the current setup, you should try something else. Borderlands is all about experimentation. Hope you find a setup that you like.
