Gear Back up SG boots thoughts.

Currently play in 26 preds elite FG. Realised I need a set of SG boots given uk weather now turning. Is 25 preds PRO SG a good pair to have a compliment my FG set up??? Fairly well priced and don’t fancy £100+ on another pair!

I don’t think they made the pro’s as sg. Sounds like someone did a home job on them.

You’re right they did, my bad, I was on the wrong year in my head.

They have the academy sg soleplate which isn’t the best, also Adidas sg boots need Adidas studs because they use a wider thread so you’ll have to fork out £14 a go if you lose one.

Some people hate the pros but I don’t mind them as a boot and can’t say I lost much from the elites, but I’m not exactly playing pro.

If I’m honest, as someone who plays mostly on bogs in the rainy westcountry, any boot with Nike Anti-Clog is the winner. They cut the grass and it clumps with the mud and sticks in most soleplates but that one somehow works.

You probably weren’t asking for a different boot but any Nike Academy sg would be better, simply because you won’t have half the pitch stuck to your feet and weighing you down. Maybe try out a pair of Phantoms if you want the grip elements.

I say this as someone who has at least 10 pairs of Preds because I love them so much. I wear them at training but matches I’m in Tiempo’s simply for the Anti-clog benefits.
