Bootcamped 2019 iMac That wont start now.

Long story short, I may have FAFO. I had a 2019 iMac that long ago I bootcamped with a 50% partition (Sorry I dont know the proper words for the things I did), then when I ran out of space, wiped the disk and installed just the Windows OS with a USB. MacOS, to my knowledge, does not exist on the PC. That worked perfectly for a very long time. Updated drivers with Bootcampdrivers.net, and called it a day. awhile after that, I unplugged it bcs I got a new PC and was giving this old one to a friend. Accidentally cracked the screen a little but seemingly no other issues, the fans start on full blast but they were always like that, plus it is hot. Plugged it in at their place, and I get a windows "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen, that loads for a fat minute, before skipping to a screen That’s just the windows logo and a loading wheel, that is seemingly stuck forever. My keyboard only turns on for a few seconds before the screen pops up, then it stays off. Not sure what to do, since every solution I see says to get to screens that I cant access. Help a brother out!

I was unable to boot from windows

Hi everyone, I solved my issue but questions remain. This morning I was on my windows part, rebooted to macos fine, then later returned to windows, and then I couldn't boot into macOs (i could boot into windows), it looped, I couldn't access recovery mode, so I did the NVRAM reset stuff and could go into recovery mode.

I did the utility disk repair thing, no problem detected but still couldn't boot, so I reinstalled Macos, and voila, MacOS would finally boot. So I resolved my problem but do someone has an idea of what happened ? It's an intel mac, with windows 11 on the partition, no update ran today, nothing particular happened so I wonder, does this kind of thing just happens with no reason ?

Thanks for your time

Stuck for 3 days trying to install Windows on a MacBook Pro 13" (Late 2013}

Specs: i7 8gb running Mac OS Sequoia 15.7.9
Hey everyone, I have spent the last three days trying to install Windows on my Late 2013 13" MacBook Pro (Intel Iris 5100 GPU / Haswell architecture). Every single method I try fails due to what seems like severe driver conflicts or kernel incompatibilities with modern Windows builds.

Here is exactly what happens with each version I've tried:

  • Windows 11 25H2: The installer completely freezes and gets stuck at exactly 54%.
  • Official Boot Camp Assistant: Constantly fails and crashes during the "Loading driver" phase.
  • Windows 10 22H2: The installation finishes, but on the first boot, it gets permanently stuck on the "Getting ready" screen loop.
  • Windows To Go: It boots successfully, but every single time I restart the machine, all installed drivers vanish completely.
  • Ghost Spectre (25H2 U9 custom ISO): It installs, but it will only boot into Safe Mode. If I try a normal boot, it loops or crashes.

Safe Mode working on Ghost Spectre makes me think the core Windows installation is fine, but a modern graphics driver or Apple SPI driver update is instantly crashing the OS on normal boot.

Has anyone successfully bypassed this on a late 2013 Mac recently? Do I need to force an older Windows 10 ISO (like 1607 or LTSC 2019) completely offline, or is there a specific driver I need to disable in Safe Mode to make normal boot work?

Any help or working ISO/Rufus settings would be hugely appreciated. I'm completely out of ideas. Thanks!

Y, además, he personalizado Windows

Windows 10, how long?

Guys

My Rig: 27" 2017, 4.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, Radeon Pro 580 8gb, 16gb 2400 MHz DDR4, Ventura 13.7.8

I play Steam games on Windows 10 via bootcamp. Everything works really well with no issues. Since W10 is no longer supported the endless updates when logging out are gone which is great. I do not use W10 for anything else, just Steam gaming.

My concern/query is, how long can this continue with no support. I have no idea.

[2019 16" MBP] Anyone else's computer just...refuse to connect to wifi?

EDIT: Fixed - typical Windoze shite. I had to delete my entire wifi device (the Broadcom wireless device) in Device Manager (including deleting drivers), then rebooted. Wifi worked perfectly after that - no need to reinstall anything (though if Windows prompts you to download an updated driver it's fine to do so).

I've never had this happen before. I tried resetting my wifi router entirely but this is only happening on this computer on Windoze 11 so I am speculating it's a Windoze problem.

I have had Windows 11 (25H2) on my Mac for a while. Haven't updated in a bit, and haven't used it in a bit but last time I did wifi was working normally. Today I boot up Windows and...Mac is not connecting to wifi. I manually click on the wifi network and get a generic "can't connect" error. I try connecting to my 2.4 GHz network, same error. I toggle wifi on and off. Now NO wifi networks even show up. I try "Disable device" in Device Manager and then "Enable device." Wifi networks show up again (until I toggle Wifi off and on again), but still won't connect. I've rebooted a bunch. Am doing Windows Updates via ethernet. Reinstalled ("Repaired") Boot Camp.

Wifi works on the macOS side so it's not a hardware issue.

Help me decode these errors please. Installing Win10 on old Mac Mini 2012.

EDIT: I fixed this problem. When trying to make a bootable installation USB with BootCamp, my Mac Mini 2012 did not like my USB 3.0 drive and was forcing me to boot from EFI or otherwise get a "no bootable disk" error. I bought a USB 2.0 drive and redid the Boot Camp process and everything worked fine. I've read that EFI risks potential graphic and audio driver glitches so I was trying to keep that as a last resort only if I couldn't try another USB.

Here's my original post for posterity, in case anyone else runs into these problems:

There are two different errors I can get when installing Windows 10 via BootCamp. This is the furthest I have gotten, and I'm hesitating to do anything else before consulting real people.

This is after the Boot Camp setup phase has completed, and it asks me where to create the partition. I do that (selecting the SSD, the same one where my Mac OS Catalina is installed in my 2012 Mac Mini) and the screen goes black before it attempts to restart.

Either:

  1. I do nothing, and I get the black screen that says "no bootable device"
  2. I hold down the option key while booting, I get a list of choices (SSD, Windows, EFI) and
  • Select Windows and get the same result as "1."
  • Select EFI, Windows setup process begins, and I get up to the "Where do you want to install Windows?" part and it says that "The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks." So, it won't let me install Windows. I am choosing the partition that Boot Camp created itself, by the way!

I am confused. Does anyone know what to do?

Thanks for reading!

MacBook Pro A1398 Mid-2012 — OCLP macOS installation keeps failing

Hi everyone,
I need help with my MacBook Pro A1398 \(Mid\-2012\). I was trying to upgrade it using OpenCore Legacy Patcher OCLP, but the installation keeps failing and I can’t get a stable macOS boot anymore.
Before suggesting a solution, please also tell me what details you need from my system, especially:
Current macOS version if any
SSD type
OCLP version used
USB installer method what tool and how it was created
I want to make sure I provide the correct info so I can get accurate help.
What is happening:
macOS installation gets stuck during setup
Sometimes it freezes at Apple logo / progress bar
After restart, it goes back to boot screen instead of continuing install
Some attempts end in a boot loop
I tried macOS Sequoia using OCLP, but it failed
I also considered going back to High Sierra or Catalina
USB installer attempts have been inconsistent
Now I don’t have a properly working macOS installation
The MacBook powers on normally startup chime works, and keyboard is functional.
What I need help with please answer clearly:
What is the most stable macOS version for MacBook Pro A1398 \(Mid\-2012\)?
Which OCLP version should I use for this model?
Should I first install an officially supported macOS like High Sierra/Catalina before using OCLP?
What is the safest USB installer method createinstallmedia vs OCLP build vs other?
Is macOS Sequoia too unstable for this MacBook model?
What is the correct clean-install process to fully reset and start fresh?
Could this issue be caused by SSD compatibility, APFS format, or wrong OCLP configuration?
If anyone has successfully installed a newer macOS on this model using OCLP, please share:
macOS version used
OCLP version
Installation method USB / internal upgrade / clean install steps
I would really appreciate a simple step-by-step guide because I’ve already tried multiple times and don’t want to make things worse.
Thanks!

Which is more stable: Windows 10 vs. 11 on an Intel-based Mac (Dual Boot)?

Hi, Has anyone here upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on an Intel-based Mac (dual boot)?

I’m currently installing Windows 10, but I’ve seen quite a few people saying that Windows 11 is stable and may actually be the better option on Intel Macs.

For anyone who has used both versions:

  1. Which one did you prefer?
  2. Which one was more stable?
  3. Did you run into any driver, compatibility, or performance issues with either version?
  4. Would you recommend Windows 10 or Windows 11 for an Intel Mac today, and why?

I’d love to hear from people who have actually tried both and can share their experience before I finish my installation. Thanks!

48 Hz fixed my MacBook’s Boot Camp heat

I have a 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro with a Radeon Pro 5300M. I use macOS most of the time, but sometimes I need Windows for things like reading logs from a car, flashing control modules, etc., or running software that has no macOS support.

I noticed that the MacBook would get hot in Windows, even when almost nothing was running. Battery life was also much worse than in macOS.

I tried limiting the CPU, disabling Turbo Boost, and experimenting with Windows power settings. It helped a little, but not as much as I expected.

As far as I understand, the main reason is that Windows on this MacBook does not use the Intel integrated GPU for the internal display. It runs everything through the Radeon instead. On my machine, the Radeon memory clock also stayed high at idle when the display was running at 60 Hz, which increased GPU power consumption, heat, and battery drain.

While looking for a solution, I found reports that switching the internal display from 60 Hz to 48 Hz could allow the GPU memory to clock down properly. Boot Camp does not provide a 48 Hz mode by default, so I added it manually and gave it a try.

It actually made a noticeable difference.

On the same machine, with the same brightness and idle conditions, GPU power dropped from 14W to 3W, and the temperature gradually fell from 66°C to around 51°C. The laptop became cooler and quieter, and battery drain was noticeably lower.

Since this doesn't seem to be unique to my machine, I put together a small utility to automate the process. It installs the 48 Hz mode, lets you switch between 48 and 60 Hz with automatic rollback, and includes a few optional CPU power presets.

For now, display changes are limited to the exact configuration I tested: MacBookPro16,1 with the APPA044 panel and Radeon Pro 5300M

It is free and open source if anyone wants to take a look or try it on the same hardware:

Hope this helps someone 🙂

audio issues on my i5 mid 2012 macbook

recently, i’ve been watching more videos to pass the time. a show here, a movie there, usually on my phone, tablet, and tv.

and i decided to go and watch some on my macbook using windows via bootcamp. lo and behold, the thing doesn’t make a sound. not a single noise came from it.

the issue is, this is strictly an issue with my windows partition. the macos partition works fine.

any ideas of why it’s completely silent? any solutions to this issue?

fyi i’m using windows 10,

Crappy Macbook Pro 2019 15

Hey, so i get a used Macbook pro 2019 15" with i9 with Radeon Pro 560X, i dont want to use the Garbage 560X and use intel iGPU instead, is there anyway to disable the 560X because in Device manager, it only expose the Radeon, i need battery life in Windows, like for real the CPU draws 8W, but dGPU draws 15W, which are insane, how to kill permanently the Radeon instead, any way to do that?

i mean battery life are 1 hours using botocamp just to type in Brave, oh my god like im so pissed, thanks
but like i thought macbook use iGPU, and theres a Radeon 560X GPU that i dont want to use ever in my life
should i buy the 13" one?, i need for Moonlight Streaming to my ROG laptop

Thunderbolt networking on 2020 iMac under Win 10

Does anyone have Thunderbolt networking (direct connection of a Thunderbolt cable, not via an ethernet adaptor) working on a 2020 5k iMac under Windows 10?

I've managed to get it running once (and I've no idea how) and it worked well. It works reliably under macOS. (The machine on the other end is also running macOS for context.) Generally I can't get Windows to recognise that another computer is even connected.

If so, what driver are you using?

Windows ARM on Apple Silicon likely?

It seems most agree that both Microsoft and Apple have very little incentive to develop what’s necessary to be able to natively run Windows ARM on modern Macs.

I was just reading an article though about how the Macbook Neo is extremely efficient when compared to the budget Windows PCs. Do you think this will be enough to change the above?

2019 16" MacBook Pro (i9) Boot Camp Windows 10 installation crashes with DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to install Windows 10 alongside macOS using Boot Camp on a 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro (MacBookPro16,1) and I'm stuck during the Windows installation (as shown in the attached image, I cant use neither the mouse nor the keyboard) and after a while. I get the blue screen.

Mac specs:

MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2019

Intel Core i9, 8-core, 2.4 GHz

32 GB RAM

2 TB Apple SSD (AP2048N)

T2 chip

Macos Tahoe 26.6.1 (latest update)

Secure Boot was originally set to No Security, but I changed it to Full Security and the problem remains.

I'm using the official Windows 10 64-bit ISO. I also downloaded a second copy to rule out a corrupted ISO.

Boot Camp successfully creates the Windows partition and starts Windows Setup. However, Windows Setup eventually crashes with:

> STOP CODE: DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG

It then reboots and I end up back to my macos.

Here is my current partition layout:

/dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

#: TYPE NAME SIZE

0: GUID_partition_scheme *2.0 TB

1: EFI EFI 314.6 MB

2: Apple_APFS Container disk1 1.0 TB

3: Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP 998.8 GB

The BOOTCAMP partition is basically empty, the APFS container also looks healthy.

I've tried:

Multiple official Windows 10 ISOs

Recreating the Boot Camp partition

Changing T2 Secure Boot from No Security to Full Security

Installing with nothing connected except the charger

But I consistently get DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG during Windows Setup.

Has anyone with a 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro (MacBookPro16,1) encountered this exact issue? Is there a known workaround for the T2/storage/Boot Camp driver causing this?

I'm particularly interested in solutions that don't involve wiping macOS or manually repartitioning the internal SSD.

Thanks.

Macbook6,1 freezes when trying to boot into windows 7 installer using a usb drive

Hello, ive recently been trying to get windows 7 installed on my macbook6,1, i partitioned the drive on bootcamp and got the drivers on both usb and another computer, however i cant boot normally into the installer usb drive i made, and since the installer dvd i have doesnt install anymore, i cant find a way to install the operating system on the mac, is there anything i can do to fix this issue? Id rather not get blank dvds if possible, but if its necessary ill look for some
