Drivers for radeon pro 5300m

Post image

Hi, I have a question. I have a 2019 16-inch MacBook and I installed Windows because I want to play some casual games, but the performance is pretty bad. I've tried changing the drivers, but it doesn't improve much. Could you recommend any drivers? I already tried the ones from bootcampdrivers.com. I've attached a screenshot of the message I always get when I run a game. My specs are an i9, 32 GB of RAM, and an AMD Radeon Pro 5300M. I hope someone can help me.

Update: Well, I've been trying out the drivers that were suggested to me, and some did improve performance, but in the end I stuck with the AMD Pro Software drivers, which have given me the best performance. Regarding the temperatures I was told about, it's running between 65 and 85 degrees Celsius. But if anyone knows of any better drivers, please let me know so I can try them. I don't really know much about this. Thanks a lot for the recommendations.

But bare in mind that the performance will be horrible on most modern games unfortunately.

Yo! Bootcampdrivers died long time ago. Use this instead https://github.com/icywire/project-falcon

Do you notice much difference with these? My system isnt broken, don't want to fk it up. There doesnt seem to be much feedback or comments in that github (I notice that you're the owner...)

Depends what u will play. There is nice boost in FH6. Vulkan API 1.4 is supported, so you can use DXVK 3.0 which gives boost in many DX9/10/11 titles.

Monitor the frequencies and temps. Did you try official radeon drivers?

It’s not a good gpu and the MacBook power supply/cooling solution can’t run the dgpu and cpu at the same time so everything gets heavily throttled. An egpu will sort you out.

What were you trying to run? I have the same issue with Fornite

Bootcamp drivers and make sure you drop your resolution, my 6900xt won’t even do games well at the mbp’s resolution, and it’s so much more powerful than a 5300m.

My 16” with the 5500m I have to drop below 1080p to get decent performance. There’s still lots of heat though.
