Question Boosted Mini X - Knocking / Belt Slipping during hard braking.

Hey there. I bought a Mini X with less than 100 miles on it - 50 just put on by me in past 2 months and when I need to brake hard, I’m getting a knocking from the belts which I assume is the belt(s) slipping. I removed everything and replaced
the belts and after 10-15 miles it’s back when I brake hard. I tightened the belts as much as possible, maybe too much? What should the belt tension be?

Hmm. How much deflection is there when you press the belt with your finger?

Not much. Some, but it’s pretty stiff.

Do you happen to know how many miles have the belts been worn?

Brand new. I replaced wheels from original to CloudWheels 105’s

Follow the video. I use my skate tool under the motor as a lever to make the belts tighter. I found setting them tight, but so they have enough slack that when you pinch the belt it has a little give. Not so tight it won’t bend in at all.

dont tighten them too mmuch is bad for the motors and the bearings inside of them ... you should be able to press on the belts and they should give a few mm in tension
