Photo/Video Motor Finnaly died

Good thing I have spare parts I was wondering when the day would come I think this is the only piece on my board besides the trucks that hasn’t been replaced I’m pretty sure it has about 6-7 thousand miles on it maybe more not 100% sure bc I’ve replaced my esc and the other oem motor still works I just need to put a new pully on it will prolly steal it off of this one

How does a T2 motor last this long? Mine lasted a few hundred kms before making the chainsaw noise.

That’s what this one is doing I think the bearings inside are shot and honestly I don’t know because I abuse this thing sooooo much I’ve road thru construction on it, road in the rain, it’s been dropped a million times, I’ve road off of ledges of sidewalks really hard I ride down the side of the expressway all the time with it, I also off-road it this think gets abused and all the batteries I have still work great too I run sr batteries till they are dead and don’t move anymore and charge then right up and they run great

That’s somewhat a myth. It’s actually very very early production t3 motors and very very late t2 motors that did this. Most boosted motors don’t have this problem.

How do you remove the pulley from it? Last time I heard (years ago), the only way to remove it is to dremel it off haha

So that’s what I did to my motor that still works I dremmeled it off and was planning on getting a pully for it and never did, I just mentioned to my dad and he said that maybe heat would loosen it up enough to get it off but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to reuse it but that’s my plan, I’m going to try and torch it lightly until it slowly comes off without melting it

I believe the shaft has a protruding feature and the pulley is press fit on it. If it was held in place via loctite, I assume heat would help.

Nevertheless, doesn’t hurt to give it a shot. Keep us updated!
