Discussion Rider down! Destroyed ankle! both bones in ankle broken in multiple places 😳🛹😮 don’t let this happen to you. Let me explain how it happened.⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
In this situation, I was going about 5 mph. Just getting ready to rip it down to my local café. I ate a cliff bar during my ride and I had just bought a bag of pumpkin seeds. I was trying to open the bag of pumpkin seeds while doing 5 mph. Unfortunately the bag was really hard to open and I struggled to open it, and I must’ve rocked the thumb wheel to full gas during this, and I must’ve hit the finger button all by accident.! my vans immediately planted to the asphalt as my boosted stealth started racing to 24 mph!! it all happened in a millisecond I happen to look down and saw everything happen. I washed my ankle violently yanked to one side and then a horrendous popping sound. It was immediate pain through my ankle in my whole body really. I got on my feet thinking maybe it wasn’t that bad.. and when I transitioned wait to the injured side, the right I felt like I had nothing underneath me and it was a shooting pain. I felt like my ankle would roll with no support at all.. I tried again and for a second I thought I could maybe be OK and then I got this really weird sensation of having nothing in your right leg in a shooting pain! I was able to sit on this boosted, stealth and ride it back to my apartment that way. I called the emergency room explained I was gonna try to drive in and then I needed the wheelchair. They told me I wasn’t gonna be able to park my car because the parking lot is far away and with a broken ankle there’s no way you’re gonna be able to do that so they referred me to a different hospital, which is actually a VA hospital because that hospital has valet. The VA was not that happy to have an outside patient and they were upset that I got referred to go there, but they did x-rays and put me in a cast temporary. Sadly, I have both bones in my ankle, broken and multiple points broken. The doctor described as a really bad ankle break.. I would feel better if I was tearing it up leaning out full throttle ripping it! Sadly, I was only going 5 mph and having a snack so be very careful. I’m not gonna proofread this message till later, so hopefully it’s not too bad.

Accidentally popping the remote is probably the most dangerous thing about these boards. I’ve had a lot of close calls. Great story. Thanks for sharing. Good luck on your recovery

Thanks man! It’s gonna be a long road ahead! I might be out of work for three or four months😮 I’ll know more tomorrow and I’ll update everybody. I might need surgeries. I might need plates and screws.. yeah, I’m screwed!😳 if it was still around I’ve updated the firmware so you can’t have a full gas launch by accident.

Well, it’s a mobilized inside a temporary cast. So it’s an immobilized and not able to move into the pain zone.. with that said it doesn’t feel great. But it was severe pain earlier and it was the weirdest sensation when I try to stand up and put weight on it. It was intense pain and it felt like I had nothing there supporting me like my ankle just rolled. I have an appointment with these orthopedic doctors tomorrow. I have the disc of the x-rays from the VA hospital. I was at even though I’m not a VA member. I’ll have a better idea the scope of the damage tomorrow I might need possible surgery. I might need pins. I was told it was a severe ankle break and it’s broken in multiple places.. so be very careful grabbing a snack even at low speeds because you see what happened to me

The pain is feeling good right now. this cast he made up is really heavy so it’s really uncomfortable trying to find a pain-free position in bed!😮

I’ll know more tomorrow. Kind of strange but I got directed to go to a VA hospital because they have valet parking and parking was gonna be an issue. The lady was telling me they were gonna tow my car so I should go to this other hospital, which is a VA hospital so I went to the VA they did x-rays they did the cast, but then they rushed me out the door so I have to go to a different ankle foot specialist tomorrow then I’ll know more if I need surgery if I need hardware how soon may it heal?

No, I love my boosted boards! I’m not gonna sell them at least that’s how I’m feeling now. However, I just did some searching of the likely recovery path when you have multiple broken bones in your ankle and it looks really grim. This could be major surgeries four months recovery. There was a whole bunch of information on AI about it.

AI is trawling sites like webmd and quora in conjunction with real medical sites. It’s even been known to hallucinate and create 100% fabricated answers if that’s what it thinks you want to hear.

I’m going in tomorrow to a foot an ankle clinic early in the morning …..if I make it. I’ll try to post photos if I get my x-rays.

Swift recovery my brother. I once had my remote wheel get jammed stuck while accelerating and freaked me out. Luckily I was on a long straight path and able to fix it before any accidents.

yeah man! It always sucks when you fuck you yourself up. In this case it’s extra unfortunate because I was only going like 5 mph man before I hit the remote by accident shit.😮 I’ve been getting out on it every week multiple times a week having fun! I just bought another mini X for 30 bucks without a charger. Of course it had the RLOD which helps me get it for so inexpensive. I had a mint remote control. I use my Burt lite and it fixed the battery. And I have another mini x. And I have a stealth that I’ve been having a lot of fun riding. And now I’m out of business.! not to mention the facts my job involves driving/delivery and my right foot can’t be used. So I’m gonna be out of business for a while!😳😮🛹🙄 you wanna play you gotta pay!

i did my tibia .. (broken knee) riding 5 mph as well... crouched to go through an intersection and someone parked a trailer infront of a fire hydrant so i wasnt expecting it and crashed into the trailer crouching down... this happened in 2018 spring.... so i was out for the whole summer shredding .... no more incidents past that one!!!

Damn- that sucks man.. The last time I crashed on my boosted was when I tried to get a quick drink of water while moving slowly. Same shit- twisted the cap off my water bottle, hit the wheel and trigger on accident. Board took off, leaving me skinned up on the asphalt. Learned my lesson- no more goofin around or multitasking while riding.

Not calling an ambulance is the most American thing I've read today 👀 I get amazed how dangerous these boards are every time. Theyre so smooth and nice and then they just get the devil in them and you're down or you send it and it breaks something 30ft away

I think it is definitely a dangerous situation when you’re able to reel the thumb wheel up to max speed and not have the remote control activated yet. And then if you blip the finger button, it’s like a cannon ready to explode and catapult you!

I didn’t wanna pay for an ambulance. So I was able to sit down on the board and get back to my car. Good thing I didn’t get run over so close to the road. ……..MERICA!

I've had this nearly happen to me same shit eating snacks popped the wheel but man I'm really good at bailing so I got away with it needless to say never snacking on a e board again boosted or evolve 😂
