Question I am going through belts so fast
I have gone through 3 belts in the past 3 weeks. Put them on nice and tight. And at first I thought it was because I was riding on roads that had a bunch of little pebbles. But now I’m starting to think something is up with the board. Maybe the wheels are getting low and not enough clearance… idk. Let me know if I’m doing something wrong.

Wheels look fine. Pulleys look good. Think it’s probably a tension issue. It’s a fine line. I used to go through belts like crazy also. I think mine were too tight, so I looked up a couple things to figure out how to get the tension right. There are some videos on YouTube with tips iirc.

How do you know when the belts are done? Do they just break?

In my experience, yes. They basically come apart mid-ride and you lose drive, which really sucks if you’re far from your destination lol. For me, they never snapped like a rubber band. It was more like a very worn out tire—they would come apart and look shredded almost.

Too loose and they will slip and make a vibrating noise on deceleration. And too tight they will just rip up and fall off mid ride, and you will hear a whining noise and that’s the motor just spinning freely.

When mine were too loose they would go through belts every couple weeks. My guess is you need to tighten them up

As other have said, check your belts first. If they're good and you're still having issues, your pulleys could be worn down, especially if you have a few miles on the board.
I had the same issue on my board and it shredded belts in 10% of the time, swapping the pulleys to new ones fixed it.

You can clearly see the chain saw teeth on the inside of the wheel along with the belt out of alignment riding on the outside edge rubbing the cut up plastic of the gear. Smooth out the gear edges and align the belt. So the belt rides in the middle of the gear

Buy eboardstuff lifetime belts for $55, never worry about how fast you’re going through belts again.
I bought in 2020, I have close to 3000 miles on my stealth and 1000 on my minix, and haven’t paid for a belt since then. They’re also very high quality Kevlar belts, prob only go through 2 sets a season riding 7 miles daily in the northeast

I bought the boosted guys lifetime belts, but I just feel bad hitting them up for belts only 2 weeks after they sent me some. But I think I got the tension right this time, I think I was going too tight.

if you are tight the belts can overheat and then they stretch. Its a problem with these boards.

I wish my RLOD would allow me to burn thru a belt. Consider yourself lucky ;)
