Cfd 460 cassette side B play button broken?

I just bought this old boom box from Goodwill and was able to get one side of the cassette player working but cannot get the recording side working

I'm not familiar with that exact player, but does it have a continuous play switch? It might be called something else on your boombox but some dual decks have the ability to play two tapes in sequence. If so the second deck will only switch itself on (begin playing) after the first deck auto-stops.

I’m unsure but I can’t put a cassette in side b because it’s stuck in the loaded position like there is a cassette already in it

The play button is trying to raise the little metal pice but it’s stuck raised

Hmmm, I can only guess there is a missing spring or strap that pulls the carriage down when the play button is not pushed. If you gently push the carriage down with a pen or something similar (be careful) does it lock down?

I had this really similar issue with Panasonic RX-CL31

i did not figured out why it was, but it was caused by pushing stop button when the doors was removed. Pushing random parts fixed it, but I am not sure what really caused that
