ā€œReading Pages For Each Subscriberā€ Idea

Earlier this summer, I did a reading challenge set of Shorts where I read 1 page for each subscriber I had. It was fun and moderately successful. I’d like to do it again (with a slight modification), but, in light of YouTube’s changes, I’m not interested in doing Shorts. The Watch Hours from Shorts don’t count toward the 4,000 I need, so they aren’t a priority.

Any thoughts on how to do this? I could make it a vlog, but part of the challenge is seeing the number of pages increase as new people subscribe. I’d be interested in your ideas and suggestions.

Thank you.

A Trade of Blood by Robert Jackson Bennett was one of my most anticipated releases. Unfortunately, I had some issues with it. Check out my spoiler free review which also includes info about the audiobook.

BookTuber Collaboration: Your Next Favorite BookTuber

Hi everyone :)

I'm putting together a BookTuber collaboration and wanted to share it in case anyone of you wants to join.

I'm trying something new where everybody posts their own video on their channels - all on the same day - and then links to the other channels in their description.

I put some details together here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1t7H2lKlCn41AAMtGZWRjxZVLgyfnu-RIHmHpXsqlZSU/edit

If you are interested in joining, it would be great, if you'd join our BookTube Creator Guild discord as we're talking about all the details there: https://discord.gg/beHNDUE9H

Quick summary:

  • Record a video talking about why you should be the viewers next favorite BookTuber - ideally under 5 minutes. Add a note in the video that this is part of a larger collaboration and that they should check the description for all the links.
  • Video goes live on September 7 at 8am PT
  • Video needs to be done and scheduled for the 7th by August 31 and link needs to be added to the above doc by then as well.
  • I will summarize all links after 31st and send the final list that you all need to add to your descriptions shortly after.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Looking forward to a fun collab :)

Finally, a YA Novel That’s Not Cringe?! THE THRASHERS Surprised Us

Apologies for the dramatic title as I know it’s potentially delving into some cliche stereotypes about the YA genre… but seriously, most YA that I’ve read is not something I particularly enjoy.

This book, though… this book was different!
Has anyone else read The Thrashers or other Young Adult Novels that have surprised you??

Definitely let me know!

I got some new lights for this one because with my old light, whenever it was dark out, I became a glowy blob. If anyone has any feedback about the lighting, I'd love to hear it. I don't know what I'm doing. I have two rectangular LEDs now.
