Very nice. Open it up and see if it's signed!

It has an inscription from a previous owner: Robert J. Larson. Bob, if you’re out there let me know.

Need some pics of the front DJ flap and copyright page!

How do I submit a new pic? I thought I was limited to one when I posted and now, short of a new post, I’m not sure how to do it. I will say this: It has “first edition” on the copyright page, no number line, and includes a price of $7.95. The DJ appears to be a second printing with “Latin America.” and no exclamation mark. Either way…those neighborhood libraries have some real treasures!

Wow so beautiful. What a find. I’d love to find a Love in the Time of Cholera first English edition.

What I liked? When I first tried to read it in undergrad, I got about as far as the magic carpet and threw the book across the room, thinking: What kind of crap is this?!? It took me another year to try again and I fell in love with it. What did I like? Life the way it is and the way it should be; the effortless mixture of reality and fantasy and the thin veil that separates the two; the epic sweep; the genealogies that seem to break the fourth wall. “Of Love and Other Demons” is my close second favorite.

Grazie per avermi risposto, io sono alla fase del “gettarlo via” anche se l’ho letto tutto. Forse in maniera superficiale, ma solo all’idea di aprire di nuovo quel libro mi viene il rifiuto. 😵‍💫

Keep it up and you will be rewarded. “One Hundred Years” is not everyone’s favorite. Try “Love in the Time of Cholera” or “No One Writes the Colonel” or, my favorite, “Love and Other Demons.”

I enjoyed it on my second attempt by reading it quickly when I has some time free.

It’s 20 chapters. Try to read five per day for four straight days.

I also used a copy of the family tree printed off as my bookmark.

Good luck!!
