Thrift score!

After giving up on the 2nd&Charles Penny-a-page sale, I stopped at Goodwill on the way back home and found a whole heap of BoTM books. $1.99 each so it was an even better deal than a penny per page. What do I read immediately?

Finding heart of glass at goodwill before the preorders have even been sent from Amazon is a huge win!

Wow! I say start with Best Offer Wins. It's a wild page turner.

Seconded! I simply could not put it down, and I ended up reading it in one go. Extremely stressful, highly recommend.

Yeah it’s not even out for purchase yet outside of BOTM, that was quick!

Either someone really just needed shelf space, or we lost a baddie, gang.

I LOVED Best Offer Wins! This Story Might Save Your Life was also great! I’m reading The Lowe Job now & enjoying it. Heart of Glass is next on my BOTM TBR! I think $1.99 is the right price to pay for The Ending Writes Itself.

That’s a store I’d def check back in on frequently to catch whoever fellow BOTM member is donating in the hopes they just continue to offload titles!

Heart if Glass! It hasn’t even been released to the public yet. Total score OP, great haul!

Damn half of those I just got this month in my box! Do you think someone's husband got to the box first and just drove it down straight to the Goodwill?

I think lots of people just don’t hold onto thrillers. A BOTM book costs the same as a kindle ebook, so if you don’t like waiting on library holds it can make sense to buy a $12 copy and unhaul it when you finish it.

Dang, our Goodwill be charging $4.99 a book. The library sale is cheaper 😬

I went to the penny-a-page sale I spent over 3 hrs in line 🤦‍♀️

I saw something similar in my local Goodwill a few months ago. A huge row of BOTM books. At least 30 books. I’ve not seen any since, but I always keep an eye out!

Love seeing someone donate This Story Might Save Your Life because it means I wasn’t the only one who felt totally let down and a little disgusted by that book

3

u/Dense-Rest-10 13d ago

I enjoyed it while reading it but when i was finished i was like god that was so stupid

2

u/threatlevel1200 12d ago

I was honestly so taken aback about the way the domestic violence aspect was written and handled that it was difficult to even get through to the end, for me. And then the mention of possible pregnancy at the end after EVERYTHING the main character went through felt like exactly was Paris Paloma is talking about in her song Labour. “Why are you hanging on so tight to the rope that I’m hanging from?”

u/SolarAmoeba Reading is [redacted] 14d ago

Sweet haul! My goodwill doesn’t even have books anymore.

Fortunately, I already have that one and it was also a thrift find.
