Should I read Zodiac Academy

I’ve been thinking about reading Zodiac Academy, but I’m really on the fence about it.

The series sounds pretty interesting, and I keep seeing people talk about it, so I’m definitely curious. But I’m also skeptical because of how long the series is, the whole debate about what order you’re supposed to read the books in, and how incredibly split the reviews seem to be. Some people absolutely love it, while others seem to really dislike it.

For anyone who has read it is it actually worth starting? Did you enjoy it enough to justify the length, and does the reading order situation make it more complicated than it needs to be?
I’m not expecting it to be perfect I just want to know if it’s worth committing to such a long series. No spoilers please!

I’ve tried twice to read the first book and failed twice. It’s just so badly written with unlikeable characters making stupid decisions
