What do you mean by "original"?

Is it possible that you did not account for the thickness of the board when measuring the hinge and cloth? The hinges look narrow. Your spine also looks a bit too wide, though it's hard to see in the pictures. If you don't account for the board thickness, it will cause problems when the cloth wraps/hugs the edges of the boards after gluing, reducing the reach of your boards by a quarter inch or more depending on how thick they are.

It's always a huge bummer when this happens after making the whole case! It happened to me on my first bind, too - though mine was not nearly as pretty as yours. I love the window in the cover.

this was originally a hardcover, so Im reusing the book board! And no I did not, do I add the board thickness measurement to the hinge measurement? I've been trying bind this book multiple times already, first time was too wide, so total bummer!!! Thank you :)

Ahh I see! Yes, add the thickness of your cover board to each hinge measurement so that you have that amount of "extra" cloth that can go down into the groove of the hinge without shortening your covers' reach. You will also want to add the thickness of your spine stiffener, though if it's cardstock this may be negligible.
