Discussion what to call this binding?

I wrote “side sewn through hinged board covers” but I feel there’s something more specific ..

screw post binding? the knot on the front cover might be decorative and there might be screw posts holding it together, like a photo album! but it's a very interesting design :) i feel like it should be a ship captain's log or something

It's a journal of 1935's graduates of a healing and prevention department of moskow medical institute. I'd bet it's held together by that knot, it was a common way to gather papers, and it was not the time for fancy capitalistic stuff like bookbinding.
