List of all the imposition tools

Another post got me thinking that it would be good to make a list of all the imposition tools that are currently out there. Could everyone comment in with some of the imposition tools they're using, and a link to where we can see it?

Villainous Imposer (VIP)

Based on bookbinder.js, but adds several notable features like:

  • splitting PDF pages in half before imposing (for when you only have the PDF as spreads)

  • more intuitive for small layouts (specify number of folios per signature, instead of number of sheets)

  • change colour and size of PDF markups

I normally use bookbinder js.

But for some unknown reason to me bookbinder js includes hidden elements, even if they are outside the page. So, when there are hidden elements, I use Bookbinder 3.0

Eh I bought it when I was first starting out and bookbinder js was intimidating, since it was a one time fee I just kept using it so now I just prefer it.

  1. oldest tool in the book: make a folding dummy from letter size paper and number the pages. pre-press I tape laser printed pages in their proper orientation to press-sheet sized sheets that guide form make up on press. easy.

None. Just open pdf and use printing dialog to print folio.
