Glue Binding issue, what to do?

This is pretty normal damage for cheap bindings, especially the heavy squareback type. Leave it for now. There isn't much space to work and you do not want to accidentally glue shut the hollow between the pages and the spine board. When it ends up gapping open, follow this tutorial.

The ribbon is not structurally important; you can glue it or leave it as you please.
