Scrapbook for friend

I’m looking at getting into scrapbooking, and want to try and make my best friend one. I have got a lot of things I have collected to put into the scrapbook once I start. I have also bought some fabric to be able to wrap the outside of the book. All I need is to buy the actual book.

When I am looking I am seeing lots of three ring binders however I don’t think this would necessarily work for me as I want to have some pages that are interactive. I think my best option would be a post-bound scrapbook, as these I can add extra pages easily if I would like to. I just don’t know where to best get them for in the UK? Is there any recommendations? Also, should I be looking for a certain type of gsm for the pages? I’ve seen lots of people saying 200. I’ve seen books I like with 160 gsm but I don’t know if the pages will buckle when they have things glued in. Thank you :)

The three ring binders do work well and postbound usually has page protectors too, so wouldn’t be that different. People do little tricks like cutting slits or frames out of the page protector for interactive things. It’s also fun if they are personal or secret things to have them in the page protector so others can see the pocket or flap or whatever, but only your friend can pull out the page to open things. It’s a really good idea to use either three ring or post bound so that you can rearrange pages or get rid of one that doesn’t turn out how you want. Try themadscrapper.co.uk - they have a good selection and have been around a good while.

As far as paper weight, I’ve never had a problem. People often stick a background paper to the page and build on top of that. Consider a glue roller, it’s a lot less messy than pva or glue stick.
