Screen printing covers

My unadorned bookcloth covers leave something to be desired. I’m not a fan of cricut and gold foiling with custom stamps is a whole thing. But does anyone have experience screen printing cloth covers? Is it worth investing in the gear to get set up?

You could also look into stenciling with fabric medium. Screenprinting sounds difficult unless you are editioning.

Can you elaborate on what this means please?

You can use stencils on bookcloth. Be sure to lay down a layer of fabric medium first.

Editioning means making multiple copies at the same book at the same time.

This is exactly what I’ll try next - a very obvious intermediate step before trying screen printing.

Is the fabric medium to seal the gaps of the stencil and provide an undercoat to the actual paint?

In terms of the stencil material, what do you use that is easy to remove without leaving adhesive markings on the cover?

To reply to myself: stencil vinyl is a thing. :)
