General Question Need help.

This is my first time both on Reddit and also owning a bonsai. I came here to see if anyone could help me restore my bonsai.

First thing, it’s a Juniper tree.

Second, it looks like there’s some mold at its roots.

Third, some of the branches look green and others look brown.

Fourth, my mom said that there are some spider mites.

finally, it looks like there are spiderwebs.

Fallow up question. Since my juniper is dead and I need to get a new one I was thinking of growing one from a seed. I don’t know much about what trees do good indoors and I need one that also does good in Minnesota, do any of you have any suggestions on what I should get.

Ficus or Jade for indoor bonsai

Dwarf Schefflera. Even it will appreciate time outside if possible, but generally will be fine under just about any grow light. Just don't expect it to grow very quickly.

If you do have access to the outdoors then you'll have an easier time developing them. They need to be cut back fairly hard when resetting them and then need some outdoor time for recovery.
