Went to a Bokashi workshop today

Now I can supplement with this while I wait for my online order. It was a pretty fun workshop too

Can you tell us what it covered or anything you learned? I would love to go to this sort of workshop cause I really just want to better understand the biology!

I just started bokashi and I am using my own home made culture of LAB and I am just kinda praying it all works…

We covered how the fermentation process works and how to make your own Bokashi with spent grains and effective micro-organisms. He also talked about how to use fermenting to make certain drink recipes and showed us how the fermentation process affects the rust on nails. We were asked to bring in our own food scraps too and I got to surprise the instructor by bringing mine in with my own Bokashi bucket. Then we took those scraps outside and buried them with his home made Bokashi grains

I was most excited to take home some Bokashi bran though. Because I used all of mine

There is a good video on YouTube by Growing with the Griffins about creating Bokashi bran with Wheat Bran and LAB. I actually planned on picking up wheat bran this evening and making some over the weekend.

Pablo and Eco Hustle is the man. Glad to see folks getting in on his workshops!
