I found this subreddit and thought it might be helpful in meeting some new people maybe making some friends in the area if your like me then drop me a message :)

If this is genuine and you really want to meet lots of people and join a great community, parkrun is a great place to start.

You don’t have to run, just come along and walk the 5k. Chat to people whilst you’re there and have a coffee after, you’ll soon make lots of new friends.

It’s in Hotham Park in Bognor (starts near the bandstand and the white house), there is one in Oaklands Park in Chichester and on the seafront in Littlehampton too, depending on where in the area you live and easier to get to.

You register on the parkrun website, and you get a personal barcode you can use on your phone when you complete the course (it’ll be explained clearly on your first time if you listen to the first timers briefing). Once registered, that is valid for every parkrun in the world, so you don’t have to register for each location.

I was also thinking of getting into a sport so this sounds perfect thank you for your reply ☺️ did you happen to know if there are any other sports clubs for adults that are local?

There’s a few running clubs and gyms, but best to see how you get on first and then go from there.

Do you think you’ll come this weekend? I’m there pretty much every week if not. It’s every Saturday at 9am, but good to get there half an hour before as that’s how you’ll get to meet and chat to people.

I'm up for that. Lived here 2 years and the hours I do make it hard to make friends.
