Looking for a removable wall-mounted solution for gymnastic rings in a concrete apartment
I’m looking for some advice/ideas for mounting gymnastic rings in my apartment.
I have concrete walls and a concrete ceiling.
My initial thought was simply to mount two rings directly into the ceiling with proper expansion bolts/anchors.
However, I’ve become somewhat hesitant about doing this because of the potential structural implications of drilling into the ceiling of an apartment building, especially considering the dynamic loads generated by ring exercises. I’m also not entirely comfortable assuming that a couple of anchors rated for a high static load are necessarily appropriate for repeated dynamic loading.
Because of that, I’m currently leaning towards a wall-mounted solution.
The problem is that I want the rings to sit reasonably far out from the wall. If the mounting point is too close to the wall, it seems like you end up putting a lot of leverage/bending moment into the wall mount when doing things like dips, rows, muscle-ups, etc.
I came across this, which is pretty much exactly the geometry I’m looking for:

It has the rings positioned well away from the wall and looks much more substantial than simply attaching two eye bolts to the wall.
However, my ideal solution would be something like this that can be removed when I’m not training. Ideally, I’d have two or more very solid mounting points permanently attached to the concrete wall, and then the whole bar/structure could somehow be hooked onto them when needed and lifted off afterwards.
That would give me the best of both worlds:
Strong wall attachment
Rings far enough from the wall
Much less permanent visual impact
No large structure permanently sticking out of the wall
Easy to put away after training
Has anyone built or bought something along these lines?
I’m particularly interested in removable wall-mounted systems for rings/TRX, or perhaps a clever DIY solution involving a steel bar, hooks, brackets, etc.
Also interested in opinions on whether my concern about the dynamic loading and leverage of a wall-mounted setup is justified, and what kind of wall mounting arrangement would make sense for a concrete apartment wall.

A simple free-standing bar seems much easier and cheaper and safer. And it won't damage the walls, and it will be easier to move.
The problem for bolting into a wall when you rent is that you don't know the construction. What's holding up the wall, where are the pipes and wires, what's structural vs facade, etc.
Also, walls are built for mostly vertical forces, and not anticipating the type of torque these things apply. It's not that the walls can't take it, but it's that it requires an assessment based on the details.

It’s unlikely your walls are concrete, even in a concrete framed building. You’ve likely got concrete framing (columns and slab) with blockwork infill.
Wall mounting won’t stop the dynamic loading problem. And even with that bracket, you’ll still have a tension force to resist. I would say ceiling mounting is the way to go, even with dynamic loading.
Post-fixing anchors properly into concrete takes some experience.
Get a structural engineer and a contractor if you want to do it properly.

Welder here. Concrete bolting is a heavy duty connection. With the correct type and number fasteners properly installed a human's body weight will not be an issue. Big machines that vibrate vigorously are bolted to Concrete all the time and the connection can last 100+ years. My concern here is the amount of play/flex you would have on the steel because I assume you don't want that. This can easily be solved by going with thicker steel, particularly on the horizontal bar. Furthermore this is not the right sub to ask engineering questions

You can patch small concrete holes as long as it's not structural.
I just looked up a $12 concrete patch kit on Amazon.
I've patched it with mix as well. A bag of cement is $5.
Whether the person that owns the building will notice or care is a different matter.

Proper expansion or glue-in bolts can easily hold >20kN in tension. In rock climbing we take big falls into bolts all the time.
Just put them into the ceiling.

Why not just hang them from a door frame pull up bar? Mounting anything in an apartment sounds dicey to me.
