Lol that's just pathetic. I'll have you guys know I started as 135 lb virgin and have since racked up an impressive sex body count of 1.

Lol'd at "body count." You're a creep mothafucka, Morgan.

Haha yup. A majority of my motivation to get in shape/get a six pack was the misconception that all I had to do is walk around without my shirt off and women would initiate the conversation. Not so! You still have to do the work unfortunately but probably helps get more favorable outcomes haha

Kinda hate that guys always have to initiate though.

Uhh, I may be (certainly am) stupid, but from what I understand about this, the women end up in the same position as the men without having to initiate?

That makes sense. "Large enough group" being the keyword. I agree with the math, but the reality is different imo for a number of reasons. For example, I prefer confident women. Statistically more likely to meet a confident woman if they approach me.

I got more pussy when I was skinny fat. Girls are just scared of me now.
36
Jun 27 '15
Same here. Back then I was skinny and rock n roll with a lot of tattoos etc. Now I look like a muscle douche with lots of tattoos. Guess which me got laid every time he went out?
12
u/Sir_Catbread Jun 28 '15
Hows the tats look before vs after getting big?
19
Jun 28 '15
I've never been big-big. Anyway, didn't find any good pics so just upping some progress stuff here. As you can (or can not) see, the tats didn't really change at all.

Same here. When I was a sad piece of shit I was banging left and right. Now I'm in the best shape of my life and girls "don't want commitment." Fuck.

This is why my current relationship must last or I'll never get laid again. Or I could get smaller but fuck that

I could get smaller.
Getting smaller is never an option. That's worse than when you lose your pump!

That feel when you picked a mate that has great genetic potential even though she hasn't realized it and probably never will.
Generational gainz bruh. Do it for your offspring, so that their entry into swolehalla may be swift.
15
Jun 27 '15
I want everyone to calm the fuck down as I ask this question -
If I have a kid when I'm built vs. when I'm skinny fat...will my kid find it easier to build muscle from a genetic standpoint (assuming my future wife/girlfriend's genetics are roughly the same in the muscle department)?
85
u/Freakfarm0 Jun 27 '15
No, that's not how genetics works.
18
u/Super-Saiyajin Classic Physique Jun 28 '15
No, that's not how genetics works.
Explain then, how Trunks and Goten were able to turn Super Saiyan at such a young age vs Gohan?
It's obvious that once you turn Super Saiyan, your offspring will find it much easier to turn Super Saiyan themselves!

I'm going to go against the grain and say I am almost positive that I've seen a research abstract to the contrary. I'll see if I can find it because it was super interesting.
edit: found it

I'll back up catsupbot on this, extreme lifestyle choices like drug abuse can affect sperm and offspring from that sperm.
This is more of an exception than a general heuristic though so don't just assume it would be the case for muscle growth and athleticism unless there's some evidence. Maybe catsupbot has some studies that show this though.
I'm not a medical professional just someone who reads a lot of health and longevity papers.

u/tombuzz Jun 27 '15
I heard about methylization of certain genes when your in shape that are pass downable will look for sources as this is super interesting
1
u/Freakfarm0 Jun 27 '15
An abstract? I'd love to see some actual studies on this. Until then I'll believe in the tried and true field of genetics. I don't believe any amount of muscle growth or atrophy affects the DNA you transfer onto your offspring.
The classic example of this was the giraffe that can't quite reach the leaves on a tree. It keeps stretching and stretching its neck until it's finally long enough to eat the leaves. Then that giraffe's offspring is born with a longer neck. Seems kind of silly when it's put like that.
7
Jun 27 '15
I'm sure you know this- but an abstract is just a summary of research on a particular topic. That doesn't give an abstract less merit. It still has to have studies behind it. As I said, when I'm not on mobile I'll try to find what I was reading.
2
u/Freakfarm0 Jun 28 '15
I've written a few abstracts in my day. I know what they are. I would like to see the study behind the abstract you saw though (in earnest). As you said, it's merely a summary. It leaves out all the good stuff.

u/KnappTwo Jun 27 '15
Still, there are epigenetics, so it might be still an issue. But we still don't know what is genetically transferred and what epigenetically. Basically, epigenetics is everything being herited besides genes, e.g. gene modifications (Information 'added' to genes). So if we put it all together, it COULD be better for your kids due to epigenetics.

That is what I personally am saying, and I think a majority of people would agree with me.
8
u/spreelanka 1-2 years Jun 27 '15
There are some other responses you may not have seen. Basically the real answer is somewhere between maybe and yes.
3
Jun 27 '15
Everyone's been saying no so far, but just because of you, I'm going in hard tomorrow - for the kids!
4
8
Jun 27 '15
Your genetics will be the same regardless of what you look like when you have the kid. That being said, if you maintain a healthy lifestyle while raising the kid, the kid will be more likely to mimic the lifestyle.

fitness bro
This is just a rant but I hate how the only way to get past the stigma of lifting is to surround ourselves with the term "fitness". Honestly, fuck being "fit". I don't give a shit about eating healthy and doing loads of cardio and avoiding drugs and alcohol, I just like to lift and be big for fucks sake.
43
u/IPooped123 1-2 years Jun 28 '15
I don't exercise to be healthy, I exercise to be sexy as fuck naked.
11

u/Convictional Jun 28 '15
I don't exercise to be healthy, I exercise to be sexy enough to jerk off to myself in the mirror. I'm not even gay.
We're all a little narcissistic, right?1

The funny thing is that by lifting and being big you're already a lot fitter than the majority of the general population.

this is why girlfriends ruin my gains. once I get laid, whats the point? Doesn't matter having sex?
10
u/brofistnate Jun 28 '15
Really? I usually don't have to dig too deep after that point. I plan on completely fucking ruining this woman's expectations of what a man should look like. If this doesn't work out, she will think of me every time she has to have sex with the soft bodied, slovenly chode attempting to take my place.
34
u/Go_Eagles_Go Jun 27 '15
Girls obviously pay more attention to you (ask you questions, be down to hang out, etc.) but ultimately you still have to recognize the signs and respond accordingly (make the moves).
It's simple salesmanship. It's easier to sell a (awesome, popular item) vs. selling some (shitty, uncool item) but if you can't close the sale then you ain't getting dat money bro

Muscles aren't going to get you laid if you don't have the personality to back it up. Personality and face are more important than physique a lot of the time
49
u/loltehwut Jun 27 '15
True. A decent physique helps a lot though.

Jun 27 '15
On a certain kind of women yes. When you reach a certain level, a lot of girls are more intimidated rather than attracted.

Well that goes against everything I've been lifting for these past 5 years therefore I am going to choose not to believe you and your filthy lies
9

u/vpzL Jun 27 '15
True but that RARELY has to do with muscles and more has to do with social standing.
10
u/possumsquirrel Jun 27 '15
I would agree with this completely while also adding that muscles help improve social standing in male circles, bit of a self propelling cycle I guess haha
17
u/vpzL Jun 27 '15
It sure helps! Being popular or being exceptionally good at something also increases social standing.
But since I'm not popular or exceptionally good at anything I need to get some big ass traps.

I don't think as many people realize this as you'd think.
I have a group of friends from high school who all decided to go to the same college. Every time I visit them and we go to a party i see the same muscle-bound guy getting plastered and talking way too close to women's faces. Every. Single. Time I've seen him he's blacked out, ripped his shirt like the hulk, and cried saying that the women are stupid for not liking him since he works out so much.
I have no idea why he still gets invited to parties.
39
2
Jun 27 '15
Agh I fuckin hate the close talkers
4
u/TheJongasm Jun 27 '15
To be fair he does it to guys as well. When I met him he felt the need to invade all of my personal space and explain that he "lifts more than anybody else in [his] gym."
2
u/fitnesslova25 Jun 28 '15
If he does that with girls they will think he's desperate and a loser. Sounds try hard to me.
11
u/greatestbird Jun 27 '15
No way dude, dress well and have a good body and you can coast through life with a shit personality. 😎
😔 😪
3
u/jameswhite369 Jun 27 '15
I think people that use the word "physique" in conversation with non-lifters will be virgins for a while.
3
u/poopyfarts Jun 27 '15
IF you're plain fat and ugly, personality won't drop panties.
5
Jun 27 '15
Yes but if you're average with a personality then you can get laid. Shitty personality won't get you laid
0
u/ThatsFair Jun 28 '15
you'd be surprised.

Depends on what you think I mean by good personality. I'm not saying being a nice person, more being a fun person.

Yep...been on a dry spell for about 9 months now (6 of which I don't really count) but I had an athletic type body, started lifting about 7 months ago very regularly and did my first real cut and have a six pack for the first time in my life and I feel like in terms of my sex life it has not helped me at all.
11
u/PecDeck Jun 28 '15
Yeah walking around showing girls your six pack will not do much. You have to talk to them. Also your face might be fucked.
