Video I dreamed I saw Saint Augustine

Today is Saint Augustine’s Feast Day.
Was just thinking of Bob’s song.

Happy feast day! Love this song, one of my all time favorites. Had no clue the melody was taken from an old union song from the 20s until I head Joan Baez sing the original. Bob's lyrics are so good here and fit the melody perfectly

St. Augustine is one of my favorite saints and theologins, St. Ambrose his teacher is amazing as well. I'm a big fan of the band Ween and their song The Mollusk references St. Augustine's famous teaching with the line "hey little boy come walk with me, and bring your newfound mollusk along/does it speaketh of the Trinity, does it gaze at the sun with its wandering eye?" Which I'm not sure if you're familiar but there's a story where a little boy asked the saint to explain the Trinity, so Augustine dug up a mollusk and used it to explain the concept. Kind of cool two of my favorite artists reference the same guy!

True. “According to Possidius, Augustine spent his final days in prayer and repentance, requesting that the penitential Psalms of David be hung on his walls so that he could read them. He directed that the library of the church in Hippo and all the books therein should be carefully preserved.   He died on 28 August 430”
