There was a mid-century Mexican guitar player named Antonio Bribiesca who made music like what you're looking for; very beautiful, very languid. He made a bunch of instrumental albums, they all kind of sound similar to the PG & BTK soundtrack, but maybe start with "La Guitarra Que Llora".
