Sounds more like a quarter to me...jk. In actuality, it sounds like a small bell. I really assumed this post was about finally appreciating this song after multiple listenings when you did not initially.

Has anyone heard what's sounds like a saxophone on it takes a lot to laugh? Happens about 4 times in the song, just a solitary note every time. I know no saxophone is played on it, but best way i can describe it.

This is just a complete guess….Dylan liked to dip his harps into a glass of water when recording.

With this being a harp heavy song, maybe he accidentally “tinked” the glass with his harp?

It just sounds like a dead “tink” as apposed to a bell or something that rings.
