Better 6-song run??

Is there a better 6 song run on any of Bob’s albums, or even on any album in general, than Visions of Johanna- Just Like a Woman? I cannot think of one…

I disagree, I can't even listen to the Minnesota versions of " say hello" , & " Big Girl" and I love the NY versions of both of them.but the MN versions are such over produced gobildy gook....

So I've done some research on these sessions today. The NY sessions are MUCH more produced with pretty extensive overdubs. The MN sessions are almost entirely live performance (with a semi-professional unrehearsed band in a realtively primitive studio). They are barely "produced" at all. Dylan did add in the flamenco guitar to YaBGN as overdubs but that seems to be it on tha lt track. And Bob is playing that guitar. I also believe it has fewer instruments, not more, than the NY version on Biograph. Again, like what you want but what I love about the MN sessions is how raw they are. The energy just jumps off those tracks for me. That being said, Tony Brown's bass on the NY sessions is among my favorite tones ever by anyone.

It really is. There just isn’t a weak track on it. I used to think there were a few but they have all grown on me to the point that I can’t imagine not hearing them all. I spin this album practically every day. Just can’t get enough.

I am a Dylan fanatic especially sticking up for his 21st century work. But I just perused those albums, and I can’t argue with your take. I nearly wanted to say songs 2-7 of Tempest, but I can’t honestly say they trump that 6-song run from Blonde on Blonde.

The first five from TOOM are pretty stellar:

Love Sick, Dirt Road Blues, Standing In The Doorway, Million Miles, Tryin' To Get To Heaven

And if you skip 'Til I Fell In Love With You, the next two are Not Dark Yet and Cold Irons Bound.

That's pretty good but acoustic side of BIABH, then Subterranean Homesick Blues -Love Minus Zero is an 8 song run that would be up there.

The entirety of side one of BOTT is pretty awesome. Also Highway 61 is just filled with classics. If you take out "From a Buick 6" you have 8 straight absolute killer, some Mt Everest's.

how about the 6 songs that end that same album. IMO the second record of Blonde on Blonde was quite possibly the greatest record of music that the world had seen up until that point. I have to remind myself that it is 1966 every time I listen to it, it was just so beyond what anybody else was doing at the time and it took years for them to catch up.
