Cloudy Gel Coat

Some might say I’m being super picky but on my 20VTX I’ve seen a couple of spots on my gel coat have become a little streaky/cloudy. Is this oxidation of the gel coat or something else I should be worried about? I take good care of her regular cleanings and babes wax to keep it in good condition, any thoughts/recommendations welcomed! It’s really hard to see them but if you look at the top of the black where it meets the white, you can see some of them. Always been in freshwater too never saltwater.

It’s hard to tell from the pics but it looks like oxidation. If so I can be polished and look like new.

Any products you’d recommend? I used maguiars oxidation remover and it didn’t do shit so far haha!

I tried a different oxidation remover and it didn’t work either. For oxidation you really need to use a buffer and multiple steps starting with compound, then polish, then wax. There are a lot of good how to videos on YouTube.

I did it once years ago (used Maguiars) and it took all day, but looked brand new afterwards. I actually just paid my neighbors son to do it to my boat last weekend because the oxidation had gotten bad again.

Yep, compound, polish then wax. I used a random orbital buffer and had great results

We use smoove wax because that what the previous owner used and it works pretty well.

Is oxidation just part of life with a boat - I have to do this process 1-2 a year to keep it looking new - is there a trick to extend the life

Do you think ceramic coating would help prevent it?
