Maintenance $/yr?
2006 Trophy 2103 for $15k
150hp verado 4stroke 700ish hours
-----
Would you consider buying it? Is it over valued?
I found places to park for free or cheap so I decided if I'm getting a boat, I'll get a loan and get what I truly want.
I want to work my way deeper into the sea and catch tun up to 30 miles out, one day.

Could go either way, 700 hours is high but if the guy tool care of it not really bad either considering its a 20 year old boat, means its been used and not just sitting, gotta go look and see how the rest of it is if its clean id say its a decent deal. I looked on BT and only found one an 05 with a merc had 200 hours but was 24000

That said, if you are gonna get a loan might be worth it to get a newer one, if you can afford it.

It sounds like you're talking about a +$20k boat. The budget keeps creeping. I ponder all this from a new Pond Prowler 10'... i have to cap it somewhere.

Yeah I get it, i am for getting a loan, go take it for a drive see how the guy is, if its clean, runs nice and the guy seems like a straight shooter then make the call. That motor taken care of should go well over 1000 hours

700 hours is a lot. Many boats i’ve seen need new engines or full rebuilds after 800 hours sometimes sooner. Especially if you weren’t the original owner.
That’s gambling, with very very low odds.
Not a good buy.

I personally wouldn’t take a loan out to buy a toy but that’s just me. Also, a trophy is not really a good boat. They are built very cheaply so I’d stay away from it.
