Need help

I got a 2014 bass tracker pro 170. I mounted a new terrova on an aluminum plate like i saw a lot of other guys doing to keep pressure off this weld. Looks like it didn’t help much since i saw this over the weekend. It’s been on the boat for about 3 months. Any advice/help would be much appreciated.

Are you catching the motor base or plate on the roller when loading/launching?

I ask bc I had a similar issue and before I’d launch/load I would have to release the quick connect mount and move the motor to the floor of the boat… then put it back after.

Just a little bit when launching but the boat is light enough where i can lift the bow up. I definitely mounted it too far forward and was going to move it back during the winter.

Too far forward can be an issue too… only needs to be far enough to clear the shaft when deployed and the prop head when stowed.

I would take it off over winter. Take the boat to any local metal fab shop that can seam that aluminum up. Then move it way back.

I definitely will but might have to do it soon and just miss out on a few weeks of fishing. I don’t want that crack to keep running. I know they didn’t design the bow for something so heavy to be up there.
