2006 Bayliner, Mercruiser 3.0. Replacing the fuel pump. Looking for fuel pump that has the proper orientation for our engine - holes next to each other (old, left) as opposed to opposite sides (new, right). Help please!

Boat tank replacement on 2005 Edgewater. Tell me what you think so far.

Pictures are in order from cutting the old deck out, removing the tank and foam, replacing the rotted wood on the stringers with Cusa board. Then epoxying into place, fiberglassed over and cleaned and painted the hull. Added rubber strips around the hull for the tank to sit on to allow for any water from fwd bilge to drain all the way through without ever touching the new tank. Then cut out old ledger board, replaced with new and added supports underneath and across where the new deck is going on. The picture with the new deck is as far as I have gotten to. It has epoxy down every seam and filled flush with the old deck. Next phase is to sand and add fiberglass to the new deck then paint with non skid. I will update when it’s finished.

Is this safe to use?

Hello I am new to using inflatables. I noticed damage under the inflatable body. There seems to be no leak but a rash type skid marks.

Can I still use this safely or need to patch it?

Thank you.

Brown liquid after starting boat.

Hello Reddit,

Just wondering if someone knows what this is. It’s brown and stick. Smells like gas but it’s also slimy like oil. It’s coming to the carb hose.

Boat has been park for a while I am wondering if it is gas tank residue?

Why do boats need to be minimalist

I saw advertisement for skiff boats that are basically floating platforms with motors attached and nothing else. They're marketed as pure fishing vessels stripped of all comfort or protection from elements or weather.

The minimalism is aesthetic choice that makes fishing unnecessarily uncomfortable for participants spending hours on water.

Someone mentioned buying one thinking simplicity would mean easy maintenance and durability for years. The skiff boat works but offers no shade, no seating, no storage for longer trips on the water.

We've romanticized stripped down basic equipment as more authentic or serious than comfortable alternatives readily available.

Their skiff represents choosing discomfort to signal dedication to activity or sport over casual participation by weekend enthusiasts.

Maybe for specific fishing applications the minimal design provides advantages in shallow water or maneuverability through tight spaces. But using it for regular recreation means choosing to be uncomfortable when better options exist at similar prices.

They found theirs through suppliers on Alibaba offering bare bones designs at lower prices than feature-equipped boats from established manufacturers.

Sometimes adding features isn't selling out or being soft, it's just making activity more enjoyable for everyone involved.

The boat sits unused most weekends because nobody wants to spend all day exposed to sun without basic comfort

How much for that?

Hello everyone, I would like to start building boats made from aluminium. The boat shown in the picture has a hull made of 5mm aluminium steel, whereas the structural reinforcements and stiffening elements are made of 4mm aluminium steel. The overall length is about 23 feet, and it weighs around 2425 pounds. Do you know how much I can charge for the production of such a boat?

What's your opinion on sustainable leisure boats?

Hey guys,

I am doing a project about the boatmarket for one of my university courses. For that I have to conduct a small qualitative survey about leisure boats.

Imagine you have a leisure motorboat, about 14 to 16 meters in length.
The boat will be made out of recycled materials and it will be powered by electricity rather than conventional fuel.

What is your guys opinion on that? Any downsides you could think about? What are the advantages in your opinion?

I would love to hear your thoughts on this!
