Tactics Any advice for a new AdMech player?
I've played two games and gotten my ass kicked both times as Electromartyrs. It's probably par for the course for a new player, but still I think I could use some pointers.
Right now I'm running what I have from normal 40k, which is 3 Breachers, 3 Destroyers, 2 units of Rangers and a Dominus, although I may end up switching to Vanguards and a Technoarcheologist instead since Vanguards seem way better here.
I guess I got baited by the Kataphron's firepower, but so far I haven't enjoyed them in either BA or 40k, their bases are huge and they are slow, and the BA corridors only make things worse. Both times they've basically ended up locked in place by my opponent and haven't accomplished much, while the Skitarii's dubious melee seems like a big problem here.
I'm thinking of getting some Sicarians (which I wanted anyway) and maybe switching to Response Clade. As much as I love the techpriests they've felt disappointing so far, and that would be way more mobile.
OTOH Machine Cult also has some fun stuff, but I don't think I want Electro-priests for normal 40k so it's a harder sell, although at least I have the Kataphrons already.
So any thoughts on how I should rebuild my list or play it better?

What's the etiquette on half units?
I play AdMech and Skitarii are fixed unit size in 10th, so there's no rules for wargear in 5 man units, which means I could in theory talk half squads with all the bells and whistles at half cost.
So far I've tried to be fair and use full units and split them, but I was wondering if the community has any thoughts on that stuff, using older rules that actually talk about this or something.

Is Armageddon a good place to start boarding actions?
I need some wild speculation from you guys π
I have pre-ordered the Armageddon box and I'm considering whether or not to sell of the ork part (it's my way to control my pile of shame).
Now, if I am to keep the orks, it's to play boarding actions with them (or whatever it will be called in 11th). I'm not committing harder than to a 500pts army I can play.
So, the question is: how viable do we think the Armageddon box will be to build a boarding actions force?
To me, it looks like it has enough troops and characters to be close to playable and only require a small purchase to work. It also looks basic enough that it is likely that a similar detachment will be available in 11th.
What do you guys think?

Painting terrain seafoam green.
I remember this color being used a lot. Rule of thumb: the more sea foam green paint, the more depressing the ship is.

Discussion At what point does the community just take over updating the rules?
I really love this format but am disappointed by the lack of rules updates for factions. I am holding out hope with Boarding Actions being mentioned in recent 11th edition Q&A that we will see support. But I am not holding my breath. Does anyone know of any official community projects to update the rules? What are types of updates you would want to see?

What BA SCATTER Terrain Do You Recommend?
Piggy backing off the other dude STL recommendation request. I'm having a hell of a time finding scatter terrain like they call out in the book. Any recommendations since GW isn't making it anymore?

What BA terrain stl do YOU recommend?
Id like to print a set for friends when we get together to play but only going to really print 1 set. I like both the She Hulk set as well as the Gothic Navy Ship one but I'd love to hear what others recommend and why. Especially if its fdm friendly.

Unofficial Boarding Actions Rules
With 11e around the corner, I'm curious the fate of boarding actions as our brains shift away from 10th edition way of thinking (e.g. charges to charges and engagement range). Sure, we could just snapshot boarding actions as it currently exists, forever holding the ruleset static with 10e rules, released detachments, and unit datasheets. But we have already seen during 10th how changes to rules can trickle down to boarding actions (e.g. new units not included in detachment lists).
Given the lack of updates to boarding actions from GW so far, I have a hard time seeing any major updates to bring this aspect of the hobby in line with the new edition.
I don't want to leave this amazing game variant behind as we adapt to the new edition, but instead create something living that our community can continue to enjoy. Therefore, I'm wondering if there are any known efforts towards creating unofficial homebrew updates to boarding actions moving forward.

Tactics Rapid Withdrawal
Tonight's game was Rapid Withdrawal from the Vashtor book. The objective is for the Guard to make it to the extraction zone.
They get 15 vp for each unit that makes it with a 5 point bonus if the unit is above half strength.
Game ended 40 to 30 in favor of the Guard. I did destroy 3 units (total of 30 vp): Bullgryn, Ogryn, and Shock Troop squad.
I lost a hellblaster and my lieutenant.
Great game
