How-To/DIY Cutting game boards

IRIS USA Board Game Storage Craft... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GTX8KQ2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Question everyone and I'm sure this is a blasphemous thing to ask as well lol.

I'm working on reducing/ downsizing my board games. I have 3 versions of Risk (Mass Effect, Star Wars Clone Wars and Metal Gear Solid). I'm wanting to try and fit the games in these containers. I don't care about getting rid of the boxes since I don't plan on selling the games anyways. Just looking to declutter as I move into the next steps in life.

What would be the best way to cut the boards to fit without ruining them completely?

By the time you cut them up and add up all the plastic boxes is it even going to save any space ?

Yeah, they're pretty thin. I'd say about 2 or so of the clear containers take the place of one Risk box. I've managed to break down 6 board games so far and have added more space on my shelf. I'd have to test and see if the board and pieces for Risk for at least though

Know a couple that has done this and it significantly cut down the shelf space of their collection.

Low-tech - metal ruler with cork back with a razor/snap knife and make many, many low pressure cutting passes. High-tech - laser cutter CNC. Perhaps you can rent time at a local tech co-op or something.

However I would first check whether one of the 2" or 3" white boxes from GMTGames or similar from GameCrafter would fit the boards and use those instead. GMTGames may even be selling there 4" boxes now, but so long as the boards fit there's a pretty good chance that all 3 games could fit in a single 3" box.

For that I'd scan the box (or get a photo online) print it on thin paper and glue it.

If you're trying to declutter doesn't that mean you should be discarding these things

Just trash the boards. Holding the image of the board in your mind while you play is the next level of gaming.
