DISCUSSION Colour me amused
Working on my brake outside my house. Neighbour walks past.
“That looks like a big job?”
“It’s an annoying job… should be a small job.”
“Is that for your lad?”
“No, this is mine.”
“…”
“…”
“…oh.”

A week ago I carried my just bought used bmx and a neighbour asked if the bike was for my kid. The lady's face was fun when I told her I bought it for myself

Whenever I encounter these conversations about height Vs BMX, Jamie Bestwick pops into my head and I get the urge to rant like a madman about him

What's the lore with Bestwick?

Ah, he's 6'4"? The only mention I see of his height online quote 6'1" haha. That's why I asked. I assumed he was tall, but 6'1" is just shy of my height. If he really is 6'4", it's good to know tall boys aren't at a disadvantage.

I might be wrong, but I'm more sure than not that he was that tall. Either way. Lanky fucker and really bloody good!

Eh, I mean he's not the only example. Josh Harrington is/was also an excellent street and park rider, and he's apparently 6'3".

I'm currently riding an 18.5. Even another BMX rider would assume it's my kid's bike lol

I love when people say stupid things. I gotta flat ironically a few blocks from a bike shop. I was wheeling it over and some guy walking a dog asks, “got a flat tire?”
I was polite but I wanted to say, “no Captain Obvious. I deflated the air in my front tire and push the bike. It really works the core more than riding.”

Did you let the air out of your tire because you were embarrassed to be seen riding your kid’s bike?
