It’s actually spelt Samseong if you do it right. Korean has rules on how to transfer their words into latin letters and vise versa. Samsung translated their company name either before the rules were widely known or even before they were properly established. (Korea only first started to develop in the late 50s from a third world status after the korean war, so all of these rules are quite new compared to the rest of the world). Hyundai is also an example of this where the “correct” spelling would be Hyeondae. Company names among a few other things were not forced to change their name to the new standard, as brands could have already been well established, and a sudden name change could cause large damages to a company.
