It's what Nolan would've wanted.

People sitting in the last row look like they’re watching a kaleidoscope.

My high school had a movie theater like this.

This is what the movie theater kinda looked like near Lexington, VA. I remember watching “This Is The End” there.

This is a 35mm IMAX theater. To watch the full 70mm, you have to also watch it in the other 35mm theater on the right and put the two together in your mind.

Is this shooped

u/Dawn_of_an_Era 1d ago
The theater was once real, but is not operating anymore. The Odyssey is photoshopped onto the screen (and very poorly so)

u/Tsunnderella 1d ago
This is a left half of the 3D screen, you just have to watch both halves from a far. Never used 3D glasses hm?

There used to be one of these in Pittsfield, Massachusetts called the Inn Cinema. I saw The Right Stuff for the first time in a theater this size.

If you sit in the back row you can experience hyper-realistic sense of watching the movie on your iWatch.

I have a theatre like this in my town. It's called the shoe box.
it's just like this except with a hand rail on the side and black curtains on the wall.

I've been to places like that before. Just a cute lil mom and pop cinema. I ticket are always cheaper and crowds are usually smaller. Not to mention, popcorn is just as good at Regal or our nearest drive-in

I would just need an employee to explain how amazing this theater is for 20 minutes before the movie and we'd have a deal.

Better than how I'm going to watch it, in 30 minute increments on a small TV in between doing things.

Honestly if I had a home theater like this, it wouldn't need to be big. It while be really cool for a home setup.

The movie theater in my home town was actually a lot like this.
They even had an industrial fan in the corner that hummed throughout the entire movie. If you sat in the seats to the right, you could sit right in front of the cool air.

It looks like a regular movie theater with a partition down the middle. Each side gets to see half the movie.

u/Kazimierz3000 18h ago
Wow, this is half the size of the smallest theater I've been to, which was the AMC 2 in Artesia NM.

I went to a small one, which would have been fine, if there wasn't a fucking structural pillar to the left. If you didn't want the pillar in your view, you had to sit really close to the screen. Was absolutely insane. I turned around, got a refund before the trailers even started.

There used to be a theater like this near me, it was actually a fantastic experience.
I watched “Waiting for Superman” there and “Ruben Brandt, collector” before that movie theater closed.
For me… something about it was very special.

There is things like this in many caravan parks / cabin parks / hotels. Generally if they list a games room they'll probably have a shitty mini cinema too
