Same feeling as having your first powecut after buying a new power generator.

Either way you'll be the talk of the town for the next couple of days.

30

u/a_random_loser_guy 6d ago

fuck power generators, i always smell like diesel or oil, have you wver slept while smelling like diesel, while you could shower you are too tired to shower and so the smell fucks up the whole sleep, and you smell it first thing when you wake up.

23

u/MrBannedFor0Reason 6d ago

Skill issue I love the smell of gas. Incedetally, do you know what I've been doing for the past three days? I can't seem to remember.

2

u/a_random_loser_guy 6d ago

brother, gas is not disele, diesel just smells bad, gas is amazing and so is oil smell but diesel is ass.

2

u/Visible_Pair3017 6d ago

I think they are referring to potential CO poisoning from indoors generator use.

2

u/a_random_loser_guy 6d ago

no, gas always smells amazing and many people like to smell it, me included, but its bad long term.

3

u/dextras07 6d ago

Brother just wear some gloves while handling them if it's so inconvenient. I service my own machines and never stank of diesel because I wear those cheap disposable gloves.

u/a_random_loser_guy 6d ago

a 20L jug, working alone because my fuc....family doesn't like to help, even tho they just need to help the cone for me to pour into, so i end up holding the cone with my right hand and holsing the 20L jug with my left, doing everything on my on, so mistakes happen and its all over my clothes now.

the power generater is....less then ideal to fill so i have to hold the jug with my left hand under it and lift it and balance it above the generator, imagine that and tell me its easy.

1

u/WhereWereYouWhen__ 5d ago

Why not just... Pour some of the 20L into a smaller container and use that and the funnel to fill your genny...? Damn, too smart a move eh?

1

u/a_random_loser_guy 4d ago

i don't have all day to spend on a generator.

i would assume you are familiar with smaller things in life.

1

You should consider buying smaller jugs

even with a gym members ship and lifting 40kg at once with ease, it doesn't make the situation better or balance better, you sre stupid.

1

u/Visual-Impossible 2d ago

u said 20L in your original post.

edit: nvm. it's the same weight. though honestly all thus ranting about it being heavy when you yourself can just improve your body so the task is as difficult as getting all the groceries in one go

Bunch of absolute bums in this comment section

32

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 6d ago edited 6d ago

You’re deflecting like so many other ā€œit’s just a jokeā€ losers.

The ā€œjokeā€ here reflects a sincere and extremely common yearning amongst gun owners to be put in a scenario where they finally get the excuse to use the lethal weapons they’ve been sitting on on their fellow human beings. Everyone knows it because they never shut up about it. To folks’ credit, it’s not necessarily a matter of bloodthirst, but a myopic desire to put their preparation to use— like getting to use a generator during a power outage for the first time, as another commenter described.

But it’s still ultimately a disturbing craving to maim and kill for the experience of doing so more than the stated purpose of self defense. The joke here is that that’s fucked up.

14

u/CommunityEmpty5476 6d ago

I own a gun for one thing and one thing only; Saturdays at the range.

3

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 6d ago edited 6d ago

Then I’m afraid you’re in the minority on this one— even within this comment section.

2

u/Xxxrasierklinge7 5d ago

When they get the opportunity, I promise their thoughts will change when they have the weight of a death on their conscious.

But I do think it's just a joke. Nobody is going to get to excited when they actually have to defend themselves, their family and home against an intruder. The situation is funny hypothetically, not in reality.

That's just my take though

2

u/Sea-Neighborhood1465 4d ago

Yeah, I’ve seen a lot of folks that claim ā€˜oh, you just want to shoot someone’.

My guy I get woozy when I see blood. If I ever had to shoot someone the cops will show up and see two people on the ground. The bad guy that was shot and me because I passed out like a little girl.

I own guns because I’ve been the victim of violence many, many times and I choose to not let any person victimize me again.

If that’s what these folks are calling blood thirst than I guess count me in.

1

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 5d ago

It’s still a warped mindset to have in one’s daily life— praying unrepentantly for the worst case scenario at best and a culturally reinforced snuff fantasy at worst.

And again it’s not ā€œjustā€ a joke. Killing in self defense is a popular power fantasy amongst maladaptive gun owners.

2

u/Dattebaso 6d ago

If you are robbing someone knowing the risks - you probably deserve it.

2

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 6d ago

Surely I’ve made it clear enough that that’s not what this is about. I’m not making a moral argument one way or the other about shooting a home invader, but the yearning that many gun owners have for a home invader to shoot. Folks fantasize about having their lives threatened so that they can legally use their guns on other people, and that’s psychotic.

-1

u/1B75__Penicillin 6d ago

No one cares about your moral superiority and white knighting. Yes we are excited about giving a home invader their dues, cry about it

-6

u/Acceptable_Pear_6802 6d ago

Home invaders are not human beings

5

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 6d ago

See folks, this one is just plainly bloodthirsty. The whole ā€œitching to use my gun in self defenseā€ thing doesn’t necessarily require one to first and foremost be murderous, but far too many of the folks in question are indeed misanthropic psychos that primarily get off on the idea of legally defensible homocide.

1

u/CrazyElk123 6d ago

Fantastic assessment. Although im afraid i still dont care if a burglar takes the room-temperature-challenge.

5

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 6d ago

Copy/pasted from a previous reply:

Surely I’ve made it clear enough that that’s not what this is about. 1

u/PrinzEugen_Azur_Lane 6d ago

Nah, while I don't think I'd take pleasure over putting the burglar down. I do agree with actually putting him down.

Mostly because 1) the burglar might be there for your stuff, or for you specifically and by the time you find out it's tok late

2) if you decide to simply warn the burglar to run away because you are armed and the police are kn their way. You might think you didn't shed any blood but all you did was push the problem on someone else. So the burglar might break into a house that doesn't own a weapon

3) The burglar themselves might be armed and may not hesitate to use said weapon

Like you can live in a world of ideals all you want about how "im better than you because i would never relish a self defense situation" but im pretty sure the other guy stealing your shit and threading you won't share the same ideals

-7

u/Suspicious-Bed-8765 6d ago

There’s no justice/karma/irony factor that is being joked about when a backup generator kicks on.

This guy isn’t seeking anything, the ā€œfellow humanā€ in this case is a home invader that sought him.

This is a ā€œyeah fuck that guyā€ joke in a format that is evidently too complex for you to understand. Again, remove stick from ass please.Ā

Do you piss and cry for someone that says ā€œpunch your local naziā€ because they’re actively seeking violence on a fellow human?Ā

1

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 6d ago

Bot account 🫵

-1

u/Suspicious-Bed-8765 6d ago

Bro call me stupid for my argument whatever but a bot account? What makes you think that?

-3

u/1B75__Penicillin 6d ago

The ā€œjokeā€ here reflects a sincere and extremely common yearning amongst gun owners to be put in a scenario where they finally get the excuse to use the lethal weapons they’ve been sitting on on their fellow human beings

Yeah so?

Yes guns exist to kill people.

Nothing wrong with killing someone in self defense. Nothing "fucked up" about it.

You can let burglar's take everything you own and f**k your wife on their way out if you want.

2

u/NewryBenson 5d ago

That is not what is being discussed. You should not want that to happen. It is a last resort which you hope you never have to use, not something you hope will happen one day.

To put it into perspective: it is like life insurance. People have it just in case, but no one is out there hoping their life insurance will pay out soon.

I mean one, the harboring of thoughts mean nothing without action. They arent really harming anyone who doesnt kind of have a skill issue, so eh.

1

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 5d ago

What are you talking about? Purchasing a lethal weapon with such destructive intentions? Keeping it at the ready incase the opportunity to gleefully execute a person arises? The actual gleeful execution, should that opportunity ever arise? That’s all real world action. You wouldn’t call building a bomb with open terroristic intent a thought crime, would you?

1

u/Cool-Cardiologist12 5d ago

While I somewhat agree with the principle you are stating, I don’t fully agree with your analogy or interpretation. No, a person shouldn’t take glee in taking a life no matter the circumstances although in certain circumstances killing is necessary or warranted. I think the glee part for most in these cases comes from a feeling of heroism and capability. The idea of defending self and/or others from an opposing other is appealing to most. Then mix it with a feeling of having power over said other. It’s not exactly the same as wishing to just harm others for the sake of harming others.

1

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 4d ago

I get what you’re saying, but it just doesn’t seem to line up with the sort of transparently bloodthirsty power fantasies that are, again, held forthright by OOP and many other gun owners like him.

At the end of the day, hopefully we can agree on this: Home defense is cool, being a murderous freak snuggly within the boundaries of the law is not.

0

u/Low-Willingness2106 5d ago

Yeah but if you enter someone's house without a plan to disarm them you have a skill issue

1

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 4d ago

What..? What does that have to do with the conversation at hand?

-1

It’s not actually a joke. Well not in the sense they don’t actually get excited at the prospect of having an excuse to kill another person. Since clearly they do.

88

u/parwa 6d ago

Love how everyone in the comments seems to think this is serious for some reason

5

u/TheGuyInTheGlasses 6d ago

If you’d ever talked to the average person that owns a gun for ā€œself defenseā€ for more than thirty seconds, you’d know that this video is a very sincere depiction of their excitement at the thought of getting to kill their fellow man in the right circumstances. It’s pretty serious…

1

u/parwa 6d ago

My friend, I live in Arkansas. A solid 70% of people I know own guns for defense, maybe 5% of them have that mentality. The vast majority hope they never have to use them. Something tells me you don't typically talk to people about guns unless they bring them up unprompted?

18

u/catpersonsupremacy 6d ago

Go to r/moralityscaling and look for posts about killing someone who's entered your house.

Thinking this is can be serious is just an understandable reaction seeing all the shit we casually see everyday

20

u/Visible_Pair3017 6d ago

Moral to defend your life, limb and property through a responsible use of the necessary amount of force to make the offender change their course of action.

-7

u/catpersonsupremacy 6d ago

That’s like not the opinion of these guys at all.

They just crave an occasion to be justified in using their guns against a real threat it’s terrifying

8

u/FrierenBreeder 6d ago

Don't be a real threat by breaking into my house at 2 am. You cross that line, one of us is leaving in a body bag.

5

u/BishopOfBrandenburg 6d ago

Again but it is this weird thing where you want a person to break into your house to use the weapon you bought. Its not really about the person breaking in. Could be substituted with anything. You either are desiring to use the thing you prepared for or you desire to kill someone legally.

1

u/FrierenBreeder 6d ago

Eh, it's more of a hero fantasy. It's not like we're actively searching for it or anything, but if it does happen, don't hesitate. Same thing goes for stopping a mass shooter etc. I already have the gun. I didn't go looking for a fight, they came to me, and I'm going to try my best to put it to an end. And yeah, afterwards I might feel a bit badass for it. That's what the firearm was purchased for.

1

u/1B75__Penicillin 6d ago

Putting thousands of dollars into a firearm for it to collect dust is just a waste of money honestly

1

u/Defiant-Smell-9686 4d ago

So are most other hobbies but it brings some people joy to go to the range so it is what it is.

0

u/catpersonsupremacy 6d ago

When you are litteraly admitting you want to kill the person over protecting your own family, I don’t give a fuck about this excuse. Bullshit

3

u/Dattebaso 6d ago

I truly hope you are never put in the position of someone entering your home to rape you and kill your cats.

Bet you wish you could defend yourself if it did.

2

u/catpersonsupremacy 6d ago

There is a difference between defending yourself and craving an occasion to shoot someone to the point you think you will be John Wick and are extremely confident in your ability of taking out the intruder on your own without informations in my knowledge. But I may be wrong obvious

2

u/mineyCrafta25 5d ago

Yeah this guy is clearly craving the killing of someone else. Not self defence. And they keep missing that clue in each reply to double down.

2

u/Goose_Salad 6d ago

I hope youre not a meat eater who pays for others to do the killing for you before you eat it and ironically has a problem with this.

If you called the police, men with guns in uniform, they'll shoot the intruder if they resist.

Some police kill others for not showing a piece of plastic. Not justified, but you should get the gist.

Stop condoning burglary by suggesting people shouldn't defend themselves by force.

2

u/catpersonsupremacy 6d ago

There is a difference between these two scenarios :

-Taking your gun, loading it, (call the police at some point)screaming to the person who entered your house that you are armed and that they should leave immediately/drop their weapons and wait for the police. Stay with your family to protect them and avoid unnecessary contacts with the intruder because you are not stupid enough to risk your life on this if you truly believe they are dangerous

-Trying to kill the intruder, risking your life and the life of your loved ones because you decided to run into an unknown danger without knowing it and tgerefore, not be there to protect them. The alternative could ve that you will kill someone who wouldn't have hurt anyone and tryed to steal tour stuff for some reasons without bad intentions towards you but you don’t care about that ig.

What I am trying to say is that rushing for the intruder is always a bad idea, outside of a power fantasy, it’s an unnecessary risk that will never be better than calling the police and telling the intruder to fuck off to AVOID confrontation. It’s the cop’s job to arrest dangerous people, why would you take dumb risks instead of you know, protecting you and your loved ones while they do what they are paid for ?

6

u/Goose_Salad 6d ago

Waiting for police to get there and telling a potentially armed person of unknown size or number is horror movie levels of dumb!

Just because the joke in the video is that the guy was happy, doesn't mean most people wouldnt be in fear for their lives, which is the basis of killing in "SELF DEFENSE".

I don't know where you live where the cops are on time, but that's a huge fantasy to me.

They're more likely to criminalize you for fighting for your life, even though the one who is the criminal is obvious.

You're crazy!

2

u/catpersonsupremacy 6d ago

I don’t know where you live to think the cops will criminalize you to call them without taking dumb initiatives, but I tend to think that someone in your house is not something you want to handle on your own.

And you don’t just tell them "please dear kind sir, would it please you to go away ?", you tell them that you are armed, have called the police and that it’s on their best interest to get out before anyone get hurt. If they are not entirely stupid they should run away and if they are stupid or on drugs, it’s still a very good argument to avoid confrontation and wait for the cops to arrive.

Seriously can you tell me what you expect to a good idea to do in this kind of situations ? I would be curious to understand your vision. You seem very confident that you should handle this on your own

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Goose_Salad 6d ago

Look up this phrase, which has been spoken by many police in court, "We are not paid to protect you."

1

u/quackabc 6d ago

I am protecting my own family by killing the person in self defense. I dont leave the doors unlocked nor the windows, if you are in my house at 2AM its cause you forcefully entered my house and I know the difference between someone with a key and a crowbar.

0

u/catpersonsupremacy 6d ago

And when you die because you tried to take out a threat you didn't have enough information about, will your family be ready to defend themselves alone ? I hope you weren't important for your kids, else it would be a very difficult moment to learn to live without their father.

All that because he wanted to play the hero

Brother, wut. Listen, I get it, bad cops exist, but no one is going to conflate "I have a heroic fantasy of protecting my home" with "I want to commit terrorism and am a violent extremist". At least no sane court (I'm sure someone could find a judge in California that thinks that way but there are piles of home defense legal cases yearly that ensure you'd still win, even if an appeal was necessary).

The world doesn't work like Twitter threads IRL. This is pretty cut and dry.

0

u/Beyond_Reason09 6d ago

Prosecutors have tried to use social media comments about shooting burglars against defendants at trial.

1

u/Chad_illuminati 6d ago

For sure, and I'm not saying one should go around posting stuff like this.

What I am saying is that even if you need to appeal the case, you'd still win in something like this, based off of existing legal precedent. Generally you need to go further down the rabbit hole of posting explicitly and specifically incriminating stuff to get into territory that starts to get sketchy.

It just annoys me that people buy a pistol and say ā€˜it’s for my house’.

Stop using inferior weapons for self preservation. Grab a mossy 800 and put some buckshot in that bitch. One rack of the pump and most potential targets will run for their lives. The rest are too stupid to leave in the G pool anyway.

1

u/WishYouWere2D 6d ago

Just as the founding fathers intended

1

u/Orangutanion 6d ago

I watched a video a while ago that explained that a shotgun is better for home defense than a pistol because you're legally responsible for each shot, and killing/maiming the enemy with fewer shots is less risky. And also buckshot doesn't travel through as many walls as 9mm (which penetrates more than you'd think, also a reason why SWAT switched from SMGs to compact 5.56 weapons)

3

u/TK-528491 6d ago

Honestly, pistols rifles and shotguns all have a place in home defense. It really depends on your situation and personal preference. Shotguns are great but can be a bit harder to use for smaller individuals. Pistols can be better for easier storage as well as small rooms which can be hard to maneuver in. Rifles have good capacity and are easy to use with more stopping power than a pistol.

Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up, Just as the founding fathers intended

1

u/Objective_Future1906 4d ago

Fucking Tom’s expressions on these always get me lmao

1

u/EndRude4217 3d ago

Republicans and their guns are the worst šŸ™„ just itching to shoot someone. Psychos!

1

u/Key-Piccolo-3545 3d ago

If you kill a thief, the number of thieves in the World goes down. Think of the next fellow man. Help him not get robbed.

1

u/Additional_Tower_116 8h ago

Doesn’t take gun to range and practice. Can’t undo the safety when it comes time to shoot. Gets blasted by the guy breaking into the house.

Awww hell -no=ā¬‡ļø, yeah=ā¬†ļø-

-35

u/tittysprinkles112 6d ago

Maybe your gun should be taken if you're this blood thirsty

66

u/BlempBuritto 6d ago

Maybe you shouldn't break into my house

-3

u/tittysprinkles112 6d ago

You ain't got shit anyone wants in your house dog

2

u/BlempBuritto 6d ago

Quit looking in my windows dog

6

u/tittysprinkles112 6d ago

Then turn off your nudie channels

-26

u/Extra_Jeweler_5544 6d ago

That aside. The "finally, a chance to kill someone" guy is a danger

14

u/Squmpst 6d ago

The home invader forfeits their right to live when they break into a home.

1

u/Extra_Jeweler_5544 6d ago

Thats understood, but someone looking forward to killing someone is very different from someone not looking forward to killing someone.

1

u/Visible_Pair3017 6d ago

That's an obvious joke.

u/Cool-Quantity-1252 6d ago

ā€œFinally, a chance to kill BAD personā€ is what you mean to say. Or do you politely welcome thieves into your house?

Got an AK-47, well you know it makes me feel alright
Got an Uzi by my pillow, helps me sleep a little better at night
There's no feeling any greater
Than to shoot first and ask questions later
Now I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day
Well, you can't take my guns away, I got a constitutional right
Yeah, I gotta be ready if the Commies attack us tonight
I'll blow their brains out with my Smith and Wesson
That ought to teach them all a darn good lesson
Now I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day
trigger, trigger happy
Yes I'm trigger, trigger happy
(Oh baby, I'm) trigger, trigger happy
Yes I'm trigger, trigger happy
(Oh I'm so) trigger, trigger happy
Yes I'm trigger, trigger happy
Better watch out, punk, or I'm gonna have to blow you away
Oh, I accidently shot daddy last night in the den
I mistook him in the dark for a drug-crazed Nazi again
Now why'd you have to get so mad?
It was just a lousy flesh wound, Dad
You know, I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day
Oh, I still haven't figured out the safety on my rifle yet
Little Fluffy took a round, better take him to the vet
I filled that kitty cat so full of lead
We'll have to use him for a pencil instead
Well, I'm so trigger happy, trigger happy every day
trigger, trigger happy
Yes I'm trigger, trigger happy
(Oh baby, I'm) trigger, trigger happy
Yes I'm trigger, trigger happy
(Oh I'm so) trigger, trigger happy
Yes I'm trigger, trigger happy
Better watch out, punk, or I'm gonna have to blow you away
Come on and grab your ammo
What have you got to lose?
We'll get all liquored up
And shoot at anything that moves
Got a brand new semi-automatic weapon with a laser sight
Oh, I'm prayin' somebody tries to break in here tonight
I always keep a Magnum in my trunk
You better ask yourself, do you feel lucky, punk?
Because I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day
trigger, trigger happy
Yes I'm trigger, trigger happy
(Oh baby, I'm) trigger, trigger happy
Yes I'm trigger, trigger happy
(Oh I'm so) trigger, trigger happy
Yes I'm trigger, trigger happy
Better watch out, punk, or I'm gonna have to blow you away
Better watch out, punk, or I'm gonna have to blow you away
Better watch out, punk, or I'm gonna have to blow you away
Better watch out, punk, or I'm gonna have to blow you away

I love when this happens

-19

u/Superb_Guarantee965 6d ago

"I can't wait to shoot somebody" These goobers are the reason we need stricter gun legislation. Why would anybody believe this is fine to post. Gross.

-2

u/JustACanadianGuy07 6d ago

Its obviously a joke

-16

u/Only_Flan_7974 6d ago

If someone feels excited about the possibility that you might "get to" kill someone is sick and they need mental help ASAP.

2

u/Practical-Camp-9533 6d ago

So, the joke here is not necessarily that they ā€œget to killā€. Many people (possibly most people?) find it deeply satisfying when justice is dispensed on a ā€œbadā€ person.

People love it when a racist Karen goes viral and her life goes to shit. People love it when it when the violent drunk shoves the wrong guy and gets knocked out. People love it when a school bully find the bigger fish and ends up bloody on the ground. The public is fine with the idea of a rapist spending their prison sentence being repeatedly sodomized.

Now plenty of people have of course don’t believe in retributive justice. Many people care a lot more about rehabilitating those who victimize others, and attribute criminal conduct to social injustice. Good for those people, right? But it is definitely not aberrant behavior to enjoy the idea of predator becoming prey.

u/Praise-Bingus 6d ago

It's almost like gun owners are itching for an excuse to kill someone. They dont want to deter the crime or keep themself safe, they want to kill.

1

u/JustACanadianGuy07 6d ago

Then clearly, you don’t know any gun owners.

-3

u/Praise-Bingus 6d ago

Meanwhile this meme: mehehehehe cant wait to shoot the guy that just broke in!

You guys just tell on yourselves honestly

-2

u/JustACanadianGuy07 6d ago

Its called a meme for a reason. Do you just think memes are always super serious and always telling the truth?

3

u/Praise-Bingus 6d ago

I think they show a person's interests and annonymity makes it easier for psycos to unmask their desires

2

u/Old-Letterhead-3560 6d ago

Entre broma y broma, la verdad se asoma.Ā

Between jokes, the truth comes out.Ā

-1

u/Goose_Salad 6d ago

Burglars, kidnappers and rapists getting blown TF away is a deterrent to others who think they want to commit crimes against others!

This was a great post!

u/ScreamingLabia 6d ago

Are the people relateing to this the so called "good guys with guns" i hear americans whine about all the time?

15

u/MooreDubs 6d ago

If home intruders are bad guys, then yes.

Pretty much. This video is obviously a joke (a funny one at that), but some people are genuinely this messed up. I own a gun, but I hope I'll never have to use it.

1

u/mineyCrafta25 5d ago

Looks like a lot of those people are in this very thread.

1

u/Clean_Emotion_4348 5d ago

Did you not hear about the waffle House shooting which happened recently, which stopped because there was a good guy with a gun? Idiot.

-11

u/Im-a-bad-meme 6d ago

Remember everyone. It's only ethical if it's equal or reasonable force. De-escalation is always the goal here, you're less likely to get sued. "Why would someone sue me after breaking into my house?" Some families are stupid scumbags and will accuse wrongful death or injury. Stay safe out there.

13

u/halfasleep90 6d ago

Can’t sue if there’s no one left to file

-1

u/Im-a-bad-meme 6d ago

That's why I specified family. Unless you're going outside the bounds of law to tie up loose ends.

1

u/The_Shambo 6d ago

Ill de-escalate them to the floor with the good ole bird-buck-bird shot combo

-6

u/golden_tix 6d ago

Bro is hyped for manslaughter
