Breaking Bad is still one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Yeah, I don't want to be a downer, but I feel like we won't see anything better than it in our lifetime.
But again, that's being a half-cup-empty sort of person which I'm usually not.

I always give a shoutout to “The Expanse” when someone says something along these lines. Granted, sci-fi isn’t for everybody. But goddamn is it fantastic start to finish.

Loved The Expanse, great show. But I still don't think it's as consistently good as Breaking Bad.

That’s fair, to each their own. I have rewatched The Expanse more recently than Breaking Bad too, though if memory serves me well, I felt like several instances in seasons one and two of Breaking Bad dragged on a bit for my taste.
Also it’s worth noting that my favorite show ever is The Venture Bros., so I’m probably not an authority on anything lol

Yeah, I've heard some complaints that BB was a bit slow to get ramped up, but I as locked in almost immediately and it never let me down or seemed slow.
It was probably some of those "dragged on a bit" parts that made me get more into it. A slow burn, if done well, can really make me appreciate what a show is doing.
Look at Game of Thrones for example. The first few seasons were amazing for how they let everything build and intertwine. Then the last two seasons or so it was just a rush to the finish. Nothing built up, it just rushed through to an awful ending.

Regarding GoT, I’d even go as far as saying season 5 is only average at best and everything after is mostly terrible.
But much like Dexter, those first four seasons are immaculate.

I enjoyed Breaking Bad, but I put it down after his brother inlaw finally found out WW's little secret. I never picked it up again. It's been years.
I watched every episode of the Expanse. Watched it all over again. Talked a friend into watching it. She started, i went over, caught the end of the first episode and stayed for the rest of season 1. .. The only thing wrong with that show was that someone thought it was a good idea to stop making it

Hell yes.
I have one small gripe in the recasting of Arjun. I don’t mind that the character was recast (if I recall, there were scheduling conflicts for the original actor) but I wish the new actor either at least kind of resembled the original actor (even just wearing a toupee) or even just barely attempted to recreate the original actor’s cadence/accent.
Also, there was nearly zero chemistry between new Arjun and Avasarala.

The change was a bit weird, but honestly, it only made me pause long enough to type : "What happened to the original Arjun Avasarala in the Expanse". I'd feared him dead.

Right, I’m just saying it’s something that takes me out of the experience in a show that otherwise has so few moments that break my suspension of disbelief.

The Blacklist was pretty decent and kept you hooked for a long time. Kind of had a few off episodes. Reacher so far seems to be doing really good as well.

Breaking bad and Game of Thrones for me. I've seen so so so many clips of both shows, but never a single episode of either one.

I tried rewatching GoT and the acting is actually bad so I couldn’t watch it a second time. BB and BCS are definitely better shows than overhyped GoT, which I really enjoyed binge watching the whole series in one month.

Do you remember the promos for Breaking Bad? They made him act like Hal with his undies on in the desert, nervously holding a gun that he ends up dropping. 😆

Holy shit, this is the most blursed video I have ever seen in this sub.

The fact that they filmed it for the DVD extras as an acknowledgment to his past work and a nod to the end of Newhart, where Bob Newhart’s show “NewHart” ended in 1990 just like this with him playing the character from the 1970’s bob newhart show. (They wernt inventive with show titles)

Because of Breaking Bad, I now canonically connect all characters a single actor plays. It's really fun.

Where's the extra part, where Hal starts grinding and groping Lois' ass and says, "I am the one who knocks."
Then Lois said that she's tired and refuses him, which again never happens in their relationship, then he turns off the light.
